Sounds good. Looks like he got a nice boost in the Nature Demo with those drivers.

I went from 26 to 37 in Nature on a [email protected] from 7206 to the 9008 (Win98SE) developer release (12/19). Most everything else was essentially flat (DOT3 was actually reduced slightly). The biggest improvement in 3dmark2001 is in image quality. Fog and smoke are much cleaner with no banding. This is also the case in OpenGL games like RTCW - much better fog. No improved anisotropic or trilinear, however.

I'd love to see some better compatibility with games, I always wanted to play CS without a single problem
And a TV Out with higher resolution would be great, too

Not exactly. Q3A gained a few fps (59-63 with 2X QSV at 10x7x32), UT was flat. RTCW seemed much smoother, but I added a ini change (192 memory) at the same time. Giants seems a bit slower. CS seems about the same, but the SV anomaly (diagonal line) is gone (has been since the 12/10 build).

These drivers are looking very good. In some respects 12/10 was better so hopefully they'll fuse the two.

Saw this at the conclusion of the article posted on the front page (good read btw). Might explain your finding:

"The anisotropic filter employed by R200, in terms of texture clarity of distant objects, is conclusively superior to GeForce3 (Figure 14). A slight disadvantage of R200 is that it does not filter between mipmap levels (i.e. trilinear filter), though this is not noticeable with a high level of detail."

Yeah I have been on the leaked/beta 9005's for about a week now, my nature FPS default bench is around 42fps....But the games tests all run a fraction slower, with improved visuals.
