Default All my icons changed after pointing to a program.

So after I installed the Dragon Age patch, Dragon Age no longer starts up. Not from shortcut, the .exe itself, the Game Explorer..nothing.

When I try to start, Windows 7 wants to search the web for a program to open it or have me point to where the program is located.

I point to where the program is located and ALL of my icons have changed (as in Excel, Word, Steam, Firefox all have the Dragon Age icon). When I click on ANY icon, it loads Dragon Age.

My remedy so far is to Windows Restore to a previous state, but now I'm back to square one where Dragon Age will not load.

Suggestions on a fix is needed.

Aw, yes I did. But to make up for it, I did just spend the entire time since posting to try and find an answer. I remember Tweak UI used to fix icons (don't know about their shortcuts), but I don't know if the only Win7 alternative I can find has that option.

Raz, is this all icons everywhere, or just the desktop?

EDIT:
Hey, this isn't exactly the same problem, but maybe it'll work. It's a free trial anyway, so maybe it's worth a shot.

Not sure what this means in the context of my OP. For one, I own a Mac as we all know. And 2, this is a Windows related issue. I don't have these issues on Mac like I've been having them on Windows. But I expected this issues using a Windows based system, and I've come here for solutions from the Rage3D Collective of Knowledge.

The icons are (were) everywhere, throughout the system (desktop, taskbar, start menu, etc.).

The issue was caused by the file \Dragon Age\bin_ship\daoriginsgdf.dll getting corrupted.
You can either:
1.- Left Click it - Properties - Previous Versions and Restore the version before update.
or
2.- You have to extract the old version from \data\apps_ship.rar in your DVD and replace it.

Perhaps you are way too grumpy in this thread. Seriously man. Can't handle a little rib jab that was so light that if it was in real life, it would be with my left hand! Then you get someone who actually suggested something that may have been overlooked in your patching process and you accuse him of not being able to read, when it is you who are not paying attention to details.

1.01b (NOT 1.01 or even 1.01a, which you may have gotten your hands on) has fixes for Explorer and Game Explorer, and I'm guessing he thought you probably had a different version since you didn't mention which you had. Are you certain you have 1.01b?

Already fixed dude.
