Sad thing just a few moments ago

So, a few blocks from where I live there's this place like a small hill where an office of the city hall functions. Around the area many stray cats have made themselves at home there. Some days we would go to see them, and leave them some food for them to eat. They arent very used to people, so they slowly approach the food and start eating, and at the moment anyone tries to approach them they flee. There's like 10 or so of them that I've seen. One of them caught my attention, because it would often climb down, and cross the street usually looking for food that pedestrians offer him. Well, tonight we went to see them as usual, we looked up looking for them, and they were there. I for a moment looked down and found that cat lying the ground right beneath us. For a moment i thought it was sleeping. Wrong, he was dead. We were astounded. Damn, how did he die? We asked around, and apparently a car got him as he went across the street, but managed to reach the steps of the hill, before falling to the ground. So sad. Apparently the guards around the area won't do anything to pick it up, afraid they might toss the cat like garbage. It's just sad the poor kitty ended up like that.

Just think, so many stories like that go unnoticed by the world at large. I don't mean that to take away from this instance of course.

But if we were to think of all the sad things that happen while we live our lives rather normally.... I think we'd all be depressed.

Yeah, i just didnt want this story to go unnoticed, like the poor dead cat was in the ground.

Poor little guy, reminds me of all the cats in the yards on my block. I give 'em 2 cans of food a day. Love those guys they are my little buddies, plus they have warmed up to me and will stick around and don't get scared of me anymore.

Improving the lives of stray animals always feels good.

Yeah, think Im going to bring them food more often from now on. It's sad that the cat that we had seen running around, crossing the street looking for food was now lying there like that. We were told it happened like an hour ago, so if we had gone straight to see the cats we could've seen him alive. He probably wouldnt have obeyed us in any way, though. I'm thinking of bringing one of them home too.

There are 2 very cool looking cats (completely black with white paws and another completely orange) that I see in the mornings but there's no way i'm giving them food. they look healthy enough I don't want them breeding.

The number of MVAs I treat, both successfully and unsuccessfully, still doesn't detract from each one being rather painful to deal with, but sadly you do get used to dealing with them clinically.
