No seriously this is a none issue, but puritanical USA would probably demand an 18 for this reason alone.

It's nice to see that Sony is unfraid and willing to invest in mature and adult content, probably Heavy Rain will blow away many misconceptions and open new doors for the game industry and story telling. Sony are taking a real chance with this. I'm sure a load of neo prude religious types will get on their high horse over this, hell GTA IV is such a sellout and has no titty action.

Maybe in the USA version they can put floating X's over them. I know its a none issue in Europe and it is a French game after all.

Definitely will be AO in the US, so my guess is that it will be cut from US release and she'll simply be more clothed. They wouldn't even allow the full intro to Soul Blade on the PSX where Sophia was nekkid, but covering herself when she was in some water.

Anyway... back on topic.

I'm hoping that the dev is brave enough to keep the scene in there for the US release. There is a precedent after all with The Witcher (directors cut or whatever) and God of War.

I hope eventually games will be rated like movies are rated. If the nudity is brief and related to the plot, then a pg13 shouldn't be out of the question.

I personally think it's great that video games are starting to break the "sex" barrier. They're already enough like movies in the way their stories are told, so why not be able to show nudity just like some PG-13 and most R movies do? Plus when you look at video game ratings here in the U.S./Canada, movies that are rated R = 17+, whereas games that are rated M[ature] = 17+ so it makes sense when you look at it that way, too. I think it will be great if this one passes with an M rating because that will mean developers will have more freedom in the adult content they can place in their games. Less restriction on adult-oriented storylines is never a bad thing and will only make video games that much more appealing to the adult crowd, too.

Dont other countries have a rating system that games must first be deemed before being sold? Here in Canada, like at the movies, games are branded under certain ratings. Usually if someone doesnt meet these requirements and doesnt provide proper ID, the retailer is not supposed to sell the game to that person. Now im pretty sure the retailers are extremely relaxed about this, but there is some sort of system in place to help not get games banned.
