Joystick Heroes Over Europe

IGN
Steam

Am I the only one excited about this game? I know these type of games are a dime a dozen and for hte most part they are repetitive throughout the entire game. But I feel this one shines above the rest..

The gameplay is similar to past WW2 Arcade Sims but this one is a little more diverse on the missions, also adds a cool Ace system that let's you dissect your enemies by blowing up specific parts of their planes.

On top of that the graphics are amazing, the clouds seem so real and the destructible environment below on the ground looks good too.

I just feel the game will have a ton of polish, the feel of the planes, the fast action arcade style gameplay.. The last game like this that i got excited for was Crimson Skies.. and that's a classic.

I just watched the video, looks pretty cool. Hope there's a demo soon.

I picked up Heroes of the Pacific for £4.99 and enjoyed it sufficiently for the price but I can't say I'd be willing to spend much more on this one unless it offers a good deal more substance.

I just wish somebody would do a nice middle ground sim rather than the two extremes we get, Heroes and HAWX style arcade games or real heavy duty but kind of dull Sturmovik sims. Where is European Air War for the next gen?

Heroes Of The Pacific was great fun as an arcade flight sim. I remember picking it up on sale along with the Saitek Aviator and playing through it in a few days. Yeah, I'll be picking this one up.

I know what you mean, a nice balance would work. But again if a team is building a sim, they usually focus all their time and effort into getting all the knobs and physics right of the airplanes and not the story/mission/interface.

it's a weird spectrum. If a team went in and painted over IL2 with a nice interface/story.. it would be the best ww2 flight sim game ever. however the lack of polish really keeps me away from that game franchise.

Heroes over Europe seems to bring more to the table than Heroes over the Pacific. One with graphics and another with diverse missions.
