Default another sleep issue thread...

Hey, it not really because I haven't sleep lately, but I successfully (or kind of) re-establish my bio clock to wake up earlier and sleep earlier. Except when I start the day, I feel like I didn't sleep enough. I'm yawning a lot, I feel tired, I feel to go to sleep again and hinder my willing to work and I know I could sleep a bit more but I can't.

Except, when I have to go to sleep, when it night, when it dark, I don't feel to go to sleep anymore. It like if the darkness lifted the burden of bearing the sunlights and I could sleep at 5 am if I could. Coffee seems to have no more effects nowadays.

Set alarm clock
Wake up at normal hour
Raise metabolic rate with 30 min of cardio
Go to bed 16 hours after waking up.

Rince, repeat.

You could try a sleep center and do an over night test, recently i participated in one at the behest of my doctor, high blood pressure, just one of the many tests he had me undergo.

Anyways it turns out i have sleep Apnea, like you i would have a hard time getting up in the morning and be tired throughout the day but for whatever reason it's like you get your second wind at night and are not so bad at that time.

Anyways i notice i don't yawn nearly as much since i got my machine, feel fresher, it looks kind of burdonsome but you get used to it relatively quickly surprisingly enough.

I don't know if this is your problem but it could'nt hurt to see.

Some people's bodies have a health reserve that is actively burned to maintain a certain level of alertness and awareness.

Just because lots of people get away with not sleeping well and getting up early and still function normally, doesn't mean it's a healthy habit.

I've gone into those types of stages where I don't feel I need to sleep, and I stayed up late. It takes it's toll somewhere... and you do pay for it eventually.

It's like I've told my cousin, you're borrowing against your own future health when you abuse it in the present.

I really hope it something like that, and not that sleep apnea thing

I tried once to register for a sleep clinic to diagnose SA but you need a personal doctor prescription for it, and I don't have one yet. And I heard that to have sleep apnea you have to be kinda fat, which I'm not so.

Can supplements in morning can help? like vitamins?

You don't have to be fat, it just makes it much more likely for it to manifest itself to the point it is bad enough you'd be suseptible.

What happens is your airway relaxes when you sleep and if the passageway collapses enough you starve yourself of oxygen, this is when yoiur mind wakes you from deep sleep enough that you once again stiffen these muscles and the passage opens to oxygen, you aren't always cognizant of this happening, as you said being fat can have an effect in that the added weight around your neck can put additional pressurres on this passage, there are additional factors such as age amongst other things that can play a role as well although even children can have it.

It is not just fat people, although i need to lose a few pounds.

I almost never had dreams, i'm having more now, perhaps being able to maintain a state of deep sleep gives my mind longer to manifest them... Dunno, could just be me though.

I ask because I do a lot of dreamings lately, meaning I don't go to full sleep. If sleep apnea don't do that perhaps I don't have this issue... Maybe just stress.

I'm no expert, just saying if you have a problem sleeping, a sleep center can perhaps be of help, it is after all, all that they do. It's not like i thought i had a problem when i went to them.

My doctor sent me to a specialist ( heart doctor ) who set everything up, blood work, heart monitor tests, sleep tests, breathing tests etc, etc, etc...For me it was more like " christ not another/more appointment/tests " i was getting a little tired of it all.

Exercise in the morning. IIRC your problem was related to working out later in the day. Not enough time to settle down from the physical exertion.

Agreed. If I exercise or eat a lot after 6PM I'm up half the night. Of course if I exercise too much a lot I'm up from the pain for several days.

excercise in the morning early afternoon, no large meals after 9pm (or 3 hours before bed), take a calcium supplement about 30mins before going to bed. Shower at least an hour before bed; don't engage in any mentally over-stimulating activities in the 30mins before bed (i.e. work, gaming, exciting novels, paying bills etc.).

altho, personally, i would recommend meditation to get you into the relaxed, calm state ... after posting inside of the 'dream thread' i found this which might be of interest to you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats

Quote:
In addition to lowering the brain frequency to relax the listener (or to raise it to help focusing), there are other controversial, alleged uses for binaural beats. For example, that by using specific frequencies an individual can stimulate certain glands to produce desired hormones. Beta-endorphin has been modulated in studies using alpha-theta brain wave training,[23] and dopamine with binaural beats.[24] Among other alleged uses, there are reducing learning time and sleeping needs (theta waves are thought to improve learning, since children, who have stronger theta waves, and remain in this state for a longer period of time than adults, usually learn faster than adults;[citation needed] and some people find that half an hour in the theta state can reduce sleeping needs up to four hours;[citation needed] however, this is supposed to happen with any way to get into theta state, e.g. meditation;[citation needed]) some use them for lucid dreaming and even for attempting out-of-body experiences, astral projection, telepathy and psychokinesis. However, the role of alpha-wave activity in lucid dreaming is subject to ongoing research.)[25][26][27]

I don't know if this is your problem but it could'nt hurt to see.
I was diagnosed with Apnea 6 years ago and have slept with a CPAP machine ever since. I don't even notice it anymore.

Just curious, do you use the optional humidifier ? And if so what if any are/is the difference ? I don't really notice a problem thus far.
