Default I'm buying a digital camera; need some advice!

Eh guys, have been interested in taking photographs of the sky; couds, sunrise/sunset, flowers and their little intricacies, insects, trees, and landscapes. I've chosen this one as it's what I can afford. I have slight interest in capturing some video; so I'm asking how much memory do I need? 4, 8, or 16gb? I need users opinions on the amount of memory I require?! Been thinking of 4gb, but is that enough? It's a 12.1 Mega pixel camera.

Memory is so cheap these days, get the biggest you can afford. Or buy a few smaller ones, doesn't really matter.

8gb should work fine. Just make sure you get memory that's fast enough for video.

It's panasonic memory, and is class 6; this cost is not cheap, it's $60 for 4gb's and 8 gb's is $100. Any of you can offer a good webpage that offers cheap, but quality memory? And thank you, so far, in the adivice you guy's have given!

I had a Kingston and Transcend SD card. 4GB each. The Kingston one started giving me errors out of nowhere and eventually stopped working, the Transcend literally fell apart.

I bought an 8GB SanDisk Extreme III for my XSi and will never buy another brand othern than SanDisk again for my SD card needs.

So no one has heard of qmemory. Look it up on google, and it's supposedly awesome.. Anyway, all I wanted to know if size really mattered; and in this case 16gb for $52 with shipping seems pretty reasonable.

I've only ever bought two types of memory cards for the mostpart...Sandisk and Transcend....

Only corrupt data I ever had was on my Sandisk Extreme III 4Gb SD and the Transced cards I have are just as fast as the Sandisk ones but at 1/3 the price.

sometimes cheap memory cards have the same chips in them as the expensive ones.

I have had good luck with the Transcend brand.

I leave the card in the camera and transfer via USB cable, so the card has never had a chance to fall apart.

I purxhased this camera: https://www.visions.ca/catalogue/cat...&menuLe vel=2

and this memory: http://www.flash-memory-store.com/qm...-150x-8gb.html

Total cost, $352.01. Now, I can relax and await my purchases. Hope everything runs smoothly; and take some needed photo's, shortly there after; well fall is a good time to photograph, with the leaves changing colours, etc... x3

Really? My order was shipped yesterday, along with the camera. I was kind of skeptical at first, as I'm neurotic at times, though got whole-saler's info and address; the only thing that bothered me was the $13.68 shipping fee. Can't wait till my package arrives. As they say: w00t!
