badsykes my 3090 let's me play COD CW at 100fps with RT Ultra at 1440p. Forza Horizon 4 over 165fps with some graphics settings set to extreme. I have a frame rate counter on my freesync monitor and other games, like Madden 20, don't move off 144 at max settings.

I'm afraid the RTX 4xxx series are not going to come down in price as and when released. In the UK the 3070 and 6800 are costing over £700 it's madness.

but nvidia did just add in Lovelace in out of the blue and delayed hopper that was to be 2021 .... why

maybe to fix ampere's high wattage problem and they are not as ready as AMD for MCM

Seems like your buddy "Areej" who wrote your article needs a lesson in reading comprehension. No where does that even remotely indicate lovelace will be on TSMC.

In fact, what it's really referring to is TSMC's 3nm process. Here's a better article from a slightly more reliable source, a small site known as "Gamers Nexus"

I'm excited for my rtx 4080, although I know these are the new prices.
They will NEVER come down again. I'm scared of the pricing scheme for the next gen of cards.

Do you gays think AMD/nvidia are dying to rush to the next gen and get those selling, or are they happy to sell this gen for as long as possible? There's still millions of gamers without cards.

In all honesty we need our own manufacturing plants right here in North America. The world shouldn't depend on a specific region for almost all our silicon, insane that we have to. If a giant Tsunami wipes out those plants the world will be in a standstill for 5-7 years minimum, that's how long it would take to build a new plant from scratch.

Cant happen soon enough. I know 10 billion sounds like a lot of money to invest(cause it is) but these companies are getting so many orders to manufacture it doesnt make sense that they havent started opening planets all across the globe to meet the demand.

Housing market in Austin must be booming more than it already has at this point.

A bit apocalyptic don't you think? I've got a gaming rig that will last me for a few years, new S21 arriving tomorrow so that can last a while. I still have my wife's old iPhone 6S running beta software for a laugh, a 10 year old Mac Mini still going strong and at least four laptops dating back a while and still running strong. Not to mention a Surface Pro 4 still working perfectly.

I think we'll we'll survive.

north america needs to do alot more than just build fabs, last time i checked we dont have a rare earth supply chain here.(Mountain pass in cali doesnt have all the required materials and is ironically partly chinese owned) Can build 100 fabs and would still be reliant on china/asia for wafer production.

More ram would be good. I've seen ram usage right at the 9+gb mark for Apex already so more games down the line will probably be more ram hungry.

Seems like a non purchase. If 4000 series comes out end of this year the extra ~300$ for a 3080 20 GB will make you feel like a chump.

4k could use 12 to 16 gb sure
and the card is not got the power for 8k even if SLI still worked

That goes both ways Bill. Even MBA 6800/6900XT's are going for >£200 over MSRP and AIB's even more. AMD despite promising to produce more cards at MSRP have produced nothing.
