Wife's less than one year old Explorer Sport had to be towed to the dealer. All of the traction and check lights came on, and it won't move. Worst part is she was in the line to drop off my kiddo at school, so that caused a huge backup. She pissed.

Off to a great start with the ole Ford...

Got my summer tires installed on my summer wheels since winter didn't exist, replaced entire set of brakes with EBC RedStuff pads and StopTech rotors.

I haven't been around for some years, how have you been man?
Is this for the Supra still? Did you ever get your own place?

It's an RX-7 haha. Still have that, brakes were for my '16 GTI though. Bought a house in 2015, wasn't planning on staying here so long but still here and hopefully upgrading in the near future. Hope all is well.

Rotary fun!

I still need to order an oil pump for my Swift. For the RSX I need to get an O2 sensor and then rip apart the exhaust because fun.

We built our house to be a starter home for 2-3 years in 2002... Still here...

Started both cars after over 10 days of no using them due to the lockdown. The Jetta's battery is reaching it's end of life and don't want any surprises later...

Honestly,

Connect the charger to the battery at the slowest rate, fully charge the battery and then disconnect it.

Your battery will be much happier.

Is it a sealed batter or can you access the cells? Many batteries can have years added to them by adding deionized water to the cells as they get low. Slow charge it after adding the DI water.

That's not the best idea. It's best to just leave the car with the battery on a maintainer. You would have to let it idle for a long time to get it back to full charge. Plus, then you just woke up every control module again from the deep sleep. So now it's just going to drain the battery down again till all the control modules go back to sleep. More wear on the engine too by just starting it up and idling it for a bit.

A battery maintainer is like $15.

Agreed. Put it on a maintainer and leave it. I do that on a couple of my cars and motorcycle for months at a time.

This is an uncommon situation, don't have a maintainer or starter and will not get one before this lockdown ends.

They are sealed VW OEM batteries
