Default Vox Machinae, upcoming MW5 killer?

With MW5 deciding not to include VR we have VM.
Just needs a reasonable single player set of missions and we have a WINNER.

I've had this on my Steam list for a while. It does look like a potential good game when it's finished. Those with VR, this is likely the next "mech" title for them:

You might as well play mechwarrior online because this has no plans for single player any time soon, if ever.

I wonder if MW5 will work with VorpX. Mechwarrior might be a game that actually will work when force converted to VR from flatscreen. You have the cockpit as a static element which should help prevent motion sickness, and if you're playing with a joystick then there's no need to see the keyboard. Granted, you won't be able to see the joystick either, which could be somewhat awkward, but probably surmountable.

Isn't this multiplayer only? As soon as I found out about that I lost absolutely all interest in it and I doubt I'd even play it for free if it was. Multiplayer only games just do not appeal to me anymore (with one or two exceptions like league of legends).

There is no single player campaign, at least at the moment. It's EA so it still has a ways to go. It at least does or is on the roadmap to have AI for coop style online battles so it may not be too far fetched that it ends up with some type of single player (even if just skirmish missions).
