No, that is not correct at all.
It was in Star Wars Clone Wars, under George Lucas, that it was revealed the Jango Fett was not a Mandalorian. This was revealed in Season 2 of Star Wars Clone Wars.

It is talked about in this video, with Dave Fioni, who produced the Clone Wars series under George Lucus and why they put the line in that episode to show that Jango is not Mandalorian.

Very interesting... I did watch those episodes way back but assumed it was just banter that the Mandalorians would say to deny losing face or honor to not just the Galactic Republic but to Jedi Master investigator...

Even with George Lucas confirming this, it seems like a revision to add to the intrigue... still there are contrasts... Clone Wars presents the Mandalorians as peaceful warrior culture with a very well known past of war and conquest and agression towards the Jedi... never mind being easily manipulated by Sith Lords

I kinda got the impression that Jango Fett is essentially a Mandalorian fanboy and cosplayer... but one that kinda proved himself fighting against a Sith Lord killing Obi Wan Kenobi... so Jango Fett earns way too much honor and respect there... when he does get killed it really doesn't make sense... it's weird because he had no reason to jump down to the pit (watched it recently to analyze) makes me wonder if Darth Tyrannous was using sith mind control to get rid of the evidence being that eventually the Jedi Council Masters could interrogate him and find out too much... kinda like organized crime tactics but maybe that's my interpretation.

There was a pre Disney SW Republic comics storyline where someone was investigating Jedi Master Sifo Dias and somehow it led to Jedi Masters getting close to asking Supreme Chancellor Palpatine questions but assassins with darts appeared and snuffed the investigation iirc so no one talked see.

Edit, I just double checked my DK books published 2006 Star Wars Complete Visual Encyclopedia book and on page 106 it has the Jango Fett entry where it states:

"After the murder of his parents, Jango Fett was adopted and raised by the legendary Mandalorian warrior army, a mercenary group who earned a reputation as the most formidable supercommandoes in the galaxy. The Jedi destroyed this dangerous force, but Fett survived and continues to wear the armored, weapon filled uniform that helped kake the Mandalorians a dreaded name."

It shows archive photos of the film uniform and weapons provided by Lucasfilm and collected as an all six parts in one book which I collected back then.

So I was right in saying that Jango Fett is a Mandalorian however the SW Clone Wars episode presents a conversation with characters and that guy and his claims that "George Lucus said" need to be analyzed further.

Jango Fett was no mere Bounty Hunter... has full Mandalorian military training and was able to fight a Sith Lord killing Obi Wan Kenobi, essentially a Jedi Knight and practically a master having bested Darth Maul by knockout or is that slashout?

That video claiming that Jango is a fraud is highly questionable even if during consultation for SW Clone Wars, someone decided to either not read the archive data or make new stuff up or change their minds...

The conversation in the episode is just a conversation... why would a Mandalorian official admit to a Jedi (essentially not their friend, old beef) that Jango Fett was a true and tested Mandalorian?

Further we could debate or argue that Bounty Hunting actually keeps a Mandalorian busy testing their skills and in the film at least Jango didn't hesitate to take on Obi Wan several times and got cocky taking on Mace Windu after successfully killing a Jedi...

Plus in the PT the Trade Federation droid army is not considered legal and large military forces are considered to be a threat to peace so essentially a Jedi investigation can happen as Ep 1 opened... and Mandalorians don't want to risk getting sliced and diced by the Jedi Council.

Still the problem of Jango Fett in AotC is that if he stayed alive or didn't get killed... eventually like Darth Maul, the Jedi Council would have like to have some words with him and Darth Tyranus would be revealed easily aka remember that until the duel the Jedi saw Count Dooku as still a Jedi.

I'll double check but the book doesn't make mention of Beskar Iron or Steel... that said that ore is considered very expensive enough to be used as payment so not sure if it's a pre-Disney thing or a Disney thing... either way the Mandalorian show turned weak bitch which makes even Boba getting beat by a blind Han Solo like a bad ass approaching Jango as top film Mandalorian.

Vibro Swords is a term from KOTOR which is a blade charged with special alloy and electric power and vibration that can spar against a light saber... iirc..

There was a scene where Mandy flashed a blade with lighting or electrical current... but clearly was a blade and no laser sword.

Actually Star Wars nerds are out of control these days... saw some "merchandise" for adults I never thought would ever be made... just like the writers of this Disney show, they're pretty sick in the brain.

lol, that was a typo when I said Jester.

And no, there were no references to Jaster in Clone Wars. Jaster isn't canon, he is only a part of Legends.

Well was thinking about this... I still say Boba and Jango are Mandos but Disney revised them.

When was the first time the term mandalorian came out? Was it from KOTOR game first?

I remember it from the 80s Star Wars toys but I could be wrong. KOTOR and those comics came way later.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandalorian

Ok at least we have wikipedia but I really feel I remember that the term "Mandalorian" was used in the early 80s Star Wars toys by Kenner.

The thing to keep in mind is that talks of Lucasfilm being sold to Disney goes as far back as late 2008 when I first heard about it and spoke to some other really annoying Marvel and Star Wars nerds that claimed to know everything and hated Jar Jar... I grew out of that cause of a younger relative basically liking the character and of course the OT seemed boring to him which made me think in my case I was much older when I finally saw the films so I didn't get attached to characters like some people did.

I remember the term "Mandalorian super-commandoes" from the early 80s being used to describe Boba Fett's heritage. So I've always associated that with Boba and Jango.

And no, there were no references to Jaster in Clone Wars. Jaster isn't canon, he is only a part of Legends.
Every time an episode refers to new Mandalorians its a jaster reference. The problem is that, as we have seen in the people vs george lucas, is he has dementia and also changes things for no reason.

Oddly enough dave in interview said not by bloodline. We know that. He became Mandalore by code.

Some bad acting and too much fan service in episode 5, IMO.

Episode 5 was perfectly fine! Only complaint I have about this season is the short length of the episodes.

It wasn't really bad, it was just slow with no real action in it. Your basic filler episode.
