So I bought the very fine Torque Pro app at Google play and have been enjoying it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en Given traffic etc I was only able to make a single 0-60 run but I forgot to turn off traction control and I forgot to put it in drive sport mode. It recorded a 0-60 time of 5.8 sec but I think it can get around 5.2 from what I've read. I'm thinking about getting up real early and try to catch a traffic light and blast out from there. The nice thing about Torque is it's always looking for the best quarter mile, 0-60 time etc so there are no buttons to press or anything. It will also record video while overlaying the gauges of your choice but the video is a bit out of sync with the data. Here is a video someone posted on how it can record video while logging data. |

Find a 55MPH road, and do it. If you're that worried about going over the speed limit, go to a drag strip. ![]() |

I bought a 2012 Infiniti G37x. I've seen more than one review that tested the all wheel drive version faster than the RWD in 0-60. One was a PBS(I think) show that had it at 5.2 seconds. They claim the added traction overcame the extra weight. Since the car has 1,300 miles on it I decided to play around with it a bit.Last edited by guest : May 3, 2012 at 05:58 PM. |

If you aren't spinning out or anything should be ok. I would read through your state codes for "Exhibition" type of stuff. Around here, is exhibition of speed or something along those lines. Otherwise, around these parts. There is no law against simply going from 0 to the speed limit quickly. ![]()

You don't. I believe it's called contest of speed in some states and treated as street racing. If the cop wants to be a dick about it. edit: what VW said. I should read more first. $15 all night here. |

Edit : Unless he was wheelstanding. Even without spinning out, I think that would meet the legal requirement as well.

0-60 in the 6 second range, nobody's gonna know your giving it all she's got But yeah as others have said you can get a careless and wreckless ticket in this state for doing it so I'd be careful. I'd love to try one just to see how much it costs me in fuel to do a 0-60 romp in the truck. It'd probably make me think twice b4 doing it again. |

If you plan on owning the car for awhile, probably not the best thing to get every millisecond out of it.

That is a bit expensive.. Anyone thought about talking to whoever manages or owns the track about a community service type program to help find funding to make it cheaper for the standard "street racer" type to go race legitimately? That is assuming that their operating costs are actually that high.

A 7 speed automatic is used in both their case and mine. About the only thing I can do is try it without traction control and put it in drive sport shift mode. I was just curious what this 4 door sedan could do.. |

Uhh, how exactly would you be breaking the law by accelerating quickly? Not sure where you live, but there are stretches of 55MPH road that see little traffic at late evening hours here. Find one of those, make sure no one is coming behind you and come to a full stop, then just gun it.

I sometimes don't come to a full stop at a stop sign.

I turn left at a red light up the street when it's late at night because it literally takes a full minute to change even with no cars coming in sight. I agree that I don't see the big deal here, I'm just saying there are laws in some places. Hell, find an onramp somewhere and stop dead.
