Default Need some dumbed down app suggestions

Bought my dementia dad an iPad2 since he doesn't do well on his PC any more.

I need to dumb down this thing as much as possible, mainly the browsers I guess.

Any app out there that can make iPad2 things larger, more simple and extreme user friendly?
