Still ill take a 225mhz increase and be quite satisfied with that.
I leave my fan in auto and luckily or intentionally I A/C cool my case so it rarely goes above 33% fan speed. Still temps will hit around 60c which seems to not affect stability. I just keep volts at stock and use Overdrive in the drivers plus when I use Afterburner, it seems to cause corruption once in awhile even if I go back to stock clocks. Is there a better OC software available? Reference 7970.

Ya trixx is nice also, i just prefer afterburner for the g15 lcd info it can display.
@noko u have a separate ac unit for your case or just pipe a line in from your central ac? The sandwich cfx arrangement i have prolly doesnt help my situation either.

I dont know if you wanted to go GTX680 for performance alone, but for example this:
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/...cking_review/5
Shows you dont need to worry about performance once that 7970 goes above 1.2ghz.
lol not hatin'. I didn't want the extra volts and not really interested in maxing out CCC either. Difference between 1050/1500 vs. 1125/1575 was too little to really care. At 1050/1500 I was assured of temps exactly like they were at 925/1375.

Either way, what's done is done. Going to wait till end of next week or alternatively, will just get another 7970 and call it a day.

Separate unit, enclosed loop, can go below freezing temps on cool days air blowing into case, case is insulated on the inside which prevents condensation on the outside plus makes it more quiet as well. I normally direct the video card air output back into the case, don't want to loose any cool air . I always end up with video cards that exhaust in the rear which is some what a hassle, should buy the modified cards with fans blowing back inside the case but when I upgrade I usually buy a reference card when first launched. Case now would be considered a vintage almost antique design, it has only two 80mm fans exhausting . I think it was 2002 when I modified the case and built it for my Radeon 9700Pro, been working since with multiple motherboards and video cards.

I love how it looks, also funny that I have 3x20cm fans and am not even close to cooling efficiency of that. Great build in comparision with all those shiny cases around, congrats.

Garth Merenghi quotes
Most of you will probably know me already from my extensive canon of chillers including "Afterbirth" in which a mutated placenta attacks Bristol.

Everyone has a special talent. Mine is being able to write, produce direct, act, paint... Other people are good plumbers, that's their gift.

There are rebels and there are innovators. I'm a rebel. I play a rebel brain expert who's in rebelliance against conventional logic, who's in rebelliance against the world order. It's about rebelliance. And if that's not being an innovator, I don't know what is.

In times of conflict, when you're up against an agressor, be he human, be he inhuman, whoe'er he be, often he is both.

Greetings traveller. Who am I? Perhaps you have met me twixt sleep and and wake - in the penumbra of uncertainity you call unconsiousness... you know, my books are essentialy about "what ifs". In "Black Fang" I asked - what if a rat could drive a bus? And what if it and its rat brethren took over and ate Parliment?

A lot of people say "Garth Merenghi? Doesn't he write that horror crap?" Well, you're an idiot, because my books always say something, even if it's simple like "Don't geneticaly engineer crabs to be as big as man". There's always a message or a theme.
