Moving on to specifications, the HD 7990 features 1 GHz core clock speed, with 1250 MHz memory. The card has a total of 6 GB GDDR5 memory, 3 GB per GPU. It features completely-unlocked 28 nm "Tahiti XT" GPUs, with 2048 stream processors. It draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Display outputs include one dual-link DVI, four mini-DisplayPort connectors. Slated for a "hard-launch" on April 17, AMD's Radeon HD 7990 6 GB "New Zealand" will target a price-point of US $849.

Could this be an April's Fool thing? This would have been my new GPU but all the waiting and the [H] SLI review convinced me to try GTX680 SLI this round...

Good to see they went with 1GHz stock clocks, what the 7970 should have been imo.

I dunno, its April 2nd here, but the fan set up looked insufficient to me for a dual GPU card lol, but I do hope the real 7990 is 1GHz.

The comment thread for that confirmed that it was an April Fool's Day joke (the picture is apparently a 'shopped 7850). It's the same site that was "seized by ICE," after all, so anything after that was probably suspect...

lots wrong with the supposed info.. dual 8 pin pcie power. given how efficient 28nm is perf/watt that should be a dead give away then add in the fact that GPU-Z never reports a dual gpu as a single (ie combining spec as though one), then the use of the PEX 8747,.. And as mentioned the cooler seems very inadequate and the AMD product numbering and the.. well you get the point.. only way I think such a device will come to market is as a partner product possibly months after initial launch based on reference designs.

I think dual 8pin is going to be what the 7990 runs in the end.

I don't agree that thats where the picture came from. It has a different fan, and if you look behind the fan looks nothing alike.
