yeah its a mixed bag. on one hand they look miles ahead of everything else, but there are some weird facial distortions that are kinda creepy. and the textures are ps 2 era. its a nice game though. flows well and the investigation/interogattion stuff is pretty unique.

There's also a weird translation error in the game where "Doubt" was apparently supposed to mean "psychotic aggression".

is there any way to play only the dlc cases in l.a. noire on the pc? like a separate menu option or something? i played through the base game on the ps3, wouldn't want to repeat that but i do want to play the dlc missions.

I think they are selectable in the cases section of the menus. DLC cases are already listed there even without reaching that point in the game.

We are just peachy. We aren't really interested in swtor. I will be getting GW2 however. The only space MMOs I were interested in were Tabula Rasa and Eve Online

Almost pulled a full allnighter playing L.A. Noire. what a good game. Case after case just flows so well and the details and acting are top notch.

I just can't stop playing it. Im at the pedo bear case at the moment

Just wait. About half way through the second set of cases (so after your first promotion). The face reading and lie detection becomes sooo friggen hard, the hints in conversations become absent completely, and half the time you won't have any idea if your supposed to call someone on a lie or not because the dialog no longer follows the logic of the evidence...

The game is awesome, but sometimes, it is ridiculous too

For example, without spoiling anything, there is one part where you have evidence that two people were there, but you also know that neither of them actually did it. Yet you STILL have to charge one of them. Or other parts where if you look at the wrong clue first, it triggers a cutscene and you miss out on any other evidence

The game is sooo goode, and sooo flawed

yep i just did that one. the acting in that case was top notch from both of the main suspects. one of the guys i even recognized from a tv show i've seen recently.

I don't see it as a flaw that you have to convict someone despite not having the actual killer. its the police force. if the chief says a head needs to roll, you have to serve him a head. it also keep the media at bay with regards to the seriel killer case that the cases are leeding up to . It feels more realistic to me this way since there's no clear bad guy at times, nor a clear moral choice. you just have to pick what you find to be the lesser evil.

yes but even then, figuring out which lines to use evidence as a lie on was nearly impossible, because cole accused the people of things that the evidence itself didn't even indicate... it was all just too much. The acting though in the game is fantastic, i just wish it were universal, and they didn't throw a wrench into the works so often. If these were real police... i would actually be actively protesting the government for higher scrutiny, testing and training on our detectives.

yeah that I do agree with. sometimes the actual line that's correct has a disconnect form the actual facts. I've restarted cases and pressed alt+f4 a few tiems because of that.

I'm moving up to the vice department now. should be interesting

LA Noire was awesome. Also you don't need to alt-f4. I figured out a way to quit mid case and restart from same point using the menu. I think you need to open the clue book and then try to get the options menu then you can quit without saving . Did that countless number of times.

Also pumped ME3. Now at Citadel and exploring Normandy trying to figure out wtf I want to do next .

Daily progress you say. Already pumping ME3 and got my first council member rescued and got Garrus on board. Best ME sidekick imo.

Boned a little bit of Virtua Tennis 4. That game is also dope. Too bad been backlogged quite a bit.

Also punched tons of rounds in SSFIVAE. So yesterday, I pumped a guy with Dudley with my main, Oni, and guy writes up to me and says you do too many combos making me a novice playa. So I am like wtf biatch. I just boned you. He challenges me to first to 5 games wins. I accept his invite. Lose first match (need to sometimes build confidence of younger players ). Guy is like yeah, you saw that. Ofcourse that meant that his ass was mine. So I go Oni on his ass. Pumping him like I did his mother last night.

So he is getting flustered. After like 2 matches, he switches to Ryu or some crap and starts turtling. I hate ****ing turtling so I completely wtf pwn3d him again. He keeps bringing them bitches, and my Oni keeps boning them. So 4 down and he is not talking. I am like good, last match and I am out bitch. He brings a Zangief. That's like bringing a gun to a sword fight. Not legit. I am like ok, let me lose this one game which I did.

Now MNB4800 knows that you don't Zangief with me. I load up the controller and Zangief his ass. 5 win - 2 loss. I say gg and enjoy and guess what he writes back, "You are a fraud". At that point, I start up into an argument with him; ofcourse I keep things civil because he not like you gays, but he kept on calling me fraud. I ended up by saying, whatever helps you sleep better at night you damn nub and close application.

Just completed the game.

what an experience. brialiant acting, great story, amazing soundtrack. pacing was perfect besides the awkward last DLC case being placed right before the last mission.

The ending reminded me a lot of the movie departed, but even darker.

this game overtook mafia 1 in my eyes, as the best game set in this time period and the genre of the linear gta styled games. a game to remember

Played through Mass Effect 1 yet again, and I am now balls deep into Mass Effect 2. I love these games. I picked up Mass Effect 3 for $45 and activated via Origin. I am not a huge fan of Origin, but I love Mass Effect too much to pass on it.

Last game lasted till 2200AD

Was me (babylon) and the arabs on one continent and persia/egypt on the other. Arabs got screwed early on as I grabbed all the good coastal city spots before they could. Babylon just exploded with culture and science, skyrocketing ahead of the arabs. Around 1950AD the egyptians asked me to destroy the arabs with them. Was fighting the arabs using mech infantry while they were defending with musketmen lol. So around 1970 Im sitting pretty with a whole continent to myself. **** goes south with the persians and egyptians. Persia has uranium egypt doesnt. Persia pretty much destroyed the egyptians untill I accidentally launched a few nukes at persia. I surrounded their continent with 8 nuke submarines and just bombed the hell out of persia with nuke missiles. This stalled their take over of egypt long enough for me to send over 8 giant death robots and take over persia's east coast cities. Man they got pissed here, nukes flying left and right haha. Managed to push through to their only uranium resources (how convenient 2 right next to each other. The whole time Im attacking them they are still going at egypt. By the time they decided that peace might be a good option egypt was down to 2 cities. At this point persia's empire is split in 2. 3 cities to the south and a scattering up north with me holding the middle. Year is now 2190AD, decided to call it quits as I actually won the game in the year 2010 using cultural victory...

playing victoria 2: a house divided as two sicilies, trying to form italy. had to take it slow to do it peacefully. my armies decimated morocco, algeria, tunis and tripoli within a few years, allied with russia and put a big dent in the ottomon empire. austria decides they wants to take tuscany and the papal states, i say '**** you' and introduce my new chums to them, france and the north german federation.

after a couple years i have half of the necessary territory to form italy and the other half is in my sphere. suddenly those other territories become italy. apparently the game bugged out and gave the event to sardnia-piedmont instead of me. so i went to war with them and austria declared war on me unexpectedly, had to force a quick peace after taking only one piece of territory.

it's a shame i'll have to cheat to force the event, but i will be italy, damnit!
