This is with Driver package 8.723.1-100408a-09... and Catalyst 12.1, and Lucid 10.4. The monitor is a HPw2338h LCD on the VGA connector. Have tried various changes to xorg.conf, and with Xrandr, but unable to set resolution to the preferred 1920 x 1080. It appears the problem is the monitor's EDID, shows the preferred resolution, but that is not shown in the list of supported standard timing. If I plug a Samsung LCD HD TV into the DVI, and restart, the TV EDID is OK with resolution higher, but not quite what the TV is capable of 1920 x 1080. These EDID's were found with XP running moninfo.exe with a AMD HD2400 and Catalyst 11.8 which runs 1920 x 1080 OK. How can I change the resolution? |
