This is coming quicker then I thought, if this works out, works out well then HPC could be changed overnight. Can't wait for Piledriver to be released next year, hopefully it will be a better performer. |

I don't understand your 'better performer' comment; AMD have 40% of the top 50 supercomputers using Opterons, and 4 of the top 10 supercomputers are Opteron based as well. What does that tell you about x86 performance as perceived by desktop enthusiasts vs. the needs of high performance compute? They are different. If Llano is creating a shift in HPC, then piledriver based APU's will accelerate that.
