It's going to be like Minority Report but where you have a bad dream and you go to jail or get a couple plain clothes officers following you around because you had a dream about something bad.

It'll be a long, loooong time before we ever get to the stage of actually viewing and recording actual mental recollections; right now the tech relies on recognising "templates" of brain activity associated with certain memories in an extremely crude fashion.

I think memory visualisation will only occur once the tech exists to map out each individual's brain on the molecular level, and measure activity on the same level. Once that's in place, it'd be easy to do.
