I got this when I bought the THQ pack at Xmas. I didn't play it on max settings (uninstalled it now so I don't know exactly but it was mostly high settings with a couple things turned down, prolly shadows), and only at 1680*1050 res but it's pretty smooth... except, like you said, while driving. Framerate was ok, 40ish fps most of the time if I remember correctly but it did hitch a lot. But I really didn't spend more than a few hours on the game, it just didn't grab me :\
