Default HD resolution editing software?

I'm looking for a program that can edit the resolution of a .mov file in order to meet AVCHD file standards. The file in question has a resolution of 1920x1056, and I'd like to add the 24 extra lines to make it 1920x1080. If you're wondering why, I cannot play videos through my Panasonic G10's SD card reader unless they meet AVCHD resolution standards...or so I'm led to believe.

I think ffmpeg can do it, but I'm looking for something less Linux based and a bit less complicated (for someone like me) to use and understand. Any ideas?

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Thank you for the suggestion but I figured it out. I needed to install avisynth and then I could use multiAVCHD, which I had tried before but it wouldnt work without avisynth. It's a cool program but the tutorials are terribly vague.

That program looks convoluted as hell... Glad you got yourself sorted.

It is. Took me 2 days to figure out how to properly use it and in the end it was quite simple. I guess it's easy when you know how. Problem was there was no easy way to learn how to use it.
