Default XP Mode works great

Texas Instruments still doesn't have x64 drivers for the TI-89 calculator so last year I had to use my roomate's 32-bit PC to load info and apps onto it.

Now with XP Mode, I can use my x64 machine just fine for that
I just go into the virtual PC application, hit the "attach device" button, select the Ti-89, and run the program from inside the XP window. I thought it would be laggy, but it actually runs just fine.

It doesn't take more than a few seconds to boot either

The same with my HP-50g calculator no 64bit drivers, but Win7 running XP mode works like a charm .
Didnt know that texas instruments was as fail as hewlet packard with 64bit drivers,
was nearly getting angry at myself back when i bought this for not checking the driver support.

So i guess the casio classpad 330 would be the best engineering calculator :P

Tell us how it is. I would like to restore my faith in Dell, but after the last few years, hell no.

Recently we brought the Toshiba A505 model from Microcenter store but we took it back to Microcenter because of my dad don't like that audio hardware problem. It sounded like cracked and it cannot be fixed. Tried to update driver or patch but anything won't be helpful. This is why we just had to order the Dell Studio 16 XPS at Dell site. Its over $2000 is what we ordered.

I still have Windows XP in another HDD. To boot to XP is just simple with Boot HDD priority in BIOS, and I am sure it's faster than virtual XP.

Once you account for shutdown/reboot/loading time, I doubt it's faster than using XP mode. As as far as application performance, VM's these days are extraordinarily superb.

XP Mode cold boots in like 10 seconds on my machine. It comes up from hibernation in 4 seconds.

It loads faster than Solidworks 2009

I've used it at work to talk to a telconferencing system. The software for it does not have 64 bit drivers for the USB interface. So I booted XP Mode on my laptop, installed the software, attached the USB device, and voila!

Good stuff!
