This is of no surprise, the RV670's are sweeping the floor on sales, globally; so says John.

Here is a quotation of Fud's questioning to John:

Fudo: Is AMD happy with the success of HD3800 series?

AMD John: Hi Fudo, we are delighted with the reception of the ATI Radeon HD 3800 series in the market. The ATI Radeon HD 3850 is looked upon as the best sub-$200 GPU in the marketplace and the ATI Radeon HD 3870 is a tremendous follow-on to the ATI Radeon HD 2900XT. All of our customers are seeing extremely strong demand for these new products in both standalone and CrossFire configurations. We have shipped significant volumes of these products into the market and they continue to sell out around the globe.

With feature sets including DX10.1, DisplayPort, PCIe 2.0, built in HDMI with 5.1 Audio, HDCP, UVD and produced on 55nm….it’s clear to see why 3800 is a winner.

I guess this sums up the reasoning for short supply, and not to be taken with a grain of salt; if you believe..

Actually, as I think about it, ncix has diamond, ati, and sapphire in stock, albeit a little too expensive for my liking, other than the diamond brand. memoryexpress (canadian) has the HIS, and diamond model in stock as well..other vendors you deal with will most likely have them?
