I agree. I've got plenty of rock-climbing gear (rope & slings if nothing else) that would cross-over nicely to tree climbing ... better safe than sorry. Limbs were plenty strong for climbing, since I kept my footholds / handholds snug against the trunk, but no way those limbs (max 2" diameter) would have stopped much of a fall.
