but what the heck does this mean
Dear customer :
To resolve the incompatibility issue with latest update ATI Catalyst
revision(catalyst 3.6), users has to update the previous firmware (VGA BIOS) on
the Radeon 9600PRO 256MB card with the attached Flash utility (FLASHROM.EXE) and
the firmware (R96PD3.S3).
Before updating VGA card BIOS ,please un-install the previous ATI drivers and
re-boot your system in DOS mode then following below step :

step 1, save all [Jeff] five attached files to the floppy disk
step 2 , boot your computer in DOS mode and type "A :" and press Enter key
step 3. insert the floppy disk you made from step 1
step 4. pls type the command "FLASHROM -P 0 R96PD3.S3" and press Enter Key
step 5 . When BIOS flash complete , restart your computer and update catalist
3.6

if you don't have floppy , pls do below

Step 1 . Create a sub-directory and naming "BIOS"
Step 2. Extract the [Jeff] five attached files to the sub-directory "BIOS"
Step 3. Boot in DOS mode and type the command "cd\bios"
Step 4. Type the command ˇ§FLASHROM -P 0 R96PD3.S3ˇ¨ and press Enter key
step 5 . When BIOS flash complete , restart your computer and update catalist
3.6

P.S. : On the command 0 = number Zero

O.k I don't have a floppy drive at all....
so i put it on a CD and ran from the command line.
Does not work....
Also the strange symbols are confusing.
Can anyone help me out
