Ended up going with the corolla in the original pictures after all. There weren't any other corollas in that price range under 100k miles and I bought the extended warranty to cover me for 5 years or 50k miles with my credit union (just in case).
Other than the touch screen being out of calibration (inputs are off), everything else seems hunky-dory so far!
