Child dies after Disney World ride.

DOh!

Robbiesan Jun 14, 2005 05:58 PM

poor little guy, and the family too of course....

DelvarWorld Jun 14, 2005 05:59 PM

I'm willing to bet he was a fatass, spoiled child.

Cyko Jun 14, 2005 05:59 PM

Dude, looks like a sweet ride! I want to go on it!

Gator Jun 14, 2005 05:59 PM

And just what kind of parent allows their child on such a ride?

Friggin boneheads...

clerick Jun 14, 2005 06:04 PM

The kid must've been terrible weight or/and health wise in general. Oh well rip.

The same parents that take their kids to R-rated movies. :bleh:

Jamar Jun 14, 2005 06:13 PM

Wow gotta love the compassion from some of you guys.

It is sad for the family. It doesn't say whether the kid had any medical conditions. It could just have been one of those freak things. Sad none the less. :(

SirRoxen Jun 14, 2005 06:14 PM

The kid probably wasn't in good health as it was. And you also have to imagine, what kind of parent would think, my kid could die or this could hurt him to go on this ride. Then again the kid is 4. That does make sense not to let him go on..but an 8 year old or something, sure I'd let my kid ride it with me.

Freak things is when like a coaster goes of track, or a blade kills someone by accident. Here he just died...

therock16 Jun 14, 2005 06:27 PM

I can't believe they let a 4 year old on that ride  I've been on it, and I've gotta say the first minute of the ride (blasting off into space) is the most intense simulator I've ever been on.

gts007 Jun 14, 2005 06:33 PM

I smell a lawsuit.

A select few of Disneys rides are actually pretty intense...when I was a kid I was terrified to even look at Space Mountain.

DeathKnight Jun 14, 2005 06:34 PM

I remember riding that. It is indeed pretty intense (I felt a little nauseous during the ride and after, but I survived).

I'd never let a 4-year old ride it though.

Farmer_BOB Jun 14, 2005 06:41 PM

^^^I was one of the first people to go on that ride. That is weird that they let the kid in. That ride's crazy.

VW_Factor Jun 14, 2005 06:49 PM

I dunno what to think about that one..

Im sorry for the child of course. He was 4 years old, he didnt know any better. I would be willing to bet that the parents were raising the child in an un-healthy manner. I know someone personally who raises her child in a very unhealthy manner. Her kid is 1 year old, and he weighs what a healthy 3 year old does.

Anyway. Shouldnt take your child on something like that if he / she is like that.

Through that article it mentioned a 77 year old woman with a history of stroke was allowed on the ride. (Not that Disney knew) but people do make stupid choices all the time.

You cant hold the theme park at fault for something like that, but Im sure someone will.

Speaking for myself, I would never let my 4 year old ride on something like that.

Sun_tzu617 Jun 14, 2005 06:54 PM

HOLY CRAP, I just got back from disney yesterday!!

I was on that ride sunday afternoon!

It was a kick ass ride

Screw you, my son rode it when he was 5. He was well over the height limit, and he never had a problem. The ride has been going for a couple of years now and this is the first incedent. I feel bad for your kid, he will grow up afraid of his own shadow.

August 2003, but my father in law works there, and there were much earlier openings. My son must have just turned 6 at the time.

Jamar Jun 14, 2005 07:13 PM

The sheriff said the child met the minimum height requirements... I remember going on Space mountain as a child and haven't liked roller coasters much since.

When I was stating about being some kind of freak incident I meant just that. The kid may not have had any signs of illness. He could have just had a weak heart or something just gave out.

All the other incidents were with elderly people in poor health. This is the first time something has happened with a child... Feel for the the parents having little ones myself.

Ive been to alot of the rides there, and the worst that I can remember was the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror. you get in an elevator and drop 13 stories straight down.. talk about making your stomache turn. I would *NEEEVVERR** let a small child on one of those rides... I remember I was 13, and I still felt like I was going to fall out of the seat on Splash Mountain.. I mean my entire body was lifted off the seat and suspended in mid air and if i had of been bumped I most definately woudl have flown out.

Well said, sad for the parents, but not an indictment of their parenting.

No, the family were ****wads for letting their kid go on the ride. Would you let your 4-year-old on the ride? Even with all those warnings? **** no. These people had no common sense they ****ed up and their kid took the consequences of THEIR STUPIDITY.

You are crazy, thousands of kids have ridden that ride without incident. It was something wrong with the kid. May be a heart murmur or some sort spinal cord problem. More than likely something else would have set this off at some time or other.

Another vote for it was the parents fault for even putting a 4 year old on such an intense ride.

It says it simulates a rocket launch into space..

That would be like the real life thing I could easily seeing a 4 year old dieing from that, the body would be too fragile.

It is a simulation, not a space launch.
