F1 Challenge 99-02 performance?
Hi. I'm getting quite cr*ppy fps in this game (with RH2004 mod installed), but only in races or race trainings, even with all the AI cars in boxes (during starts around 30-35 fps, during race ~45-60 even if there are no cars in my field of vision. With rain, it can be as low as ~20 fps at some points). This with all graphic options maxed and 1024x768x16 (x32 is even worse). But in "Test Day" all is smooth as butter (>100 fps)...

Of course "Test Day" has not any cars to simulate except mine, so... is this game that CPU dependant? Hell, it's 2 years old. How did it run with the processors of the time then? Or is it a Catalyst issue?

My rig:

Asus A7N8X-X mobo, Athlon XP 3000+, 1GB RAM
Sapphire X800 XT (with Cats 4.11)
Audigy 2 ZS

As an example, I can run Richard Burns Rally all maxed 1024x768x32 6xAA 16xAF not getting never less than 80-90 fps. The same with Flat Out. And graphically they are lightyears ahead of F1C.

Thanks and regards.

make sure u run the 3dconfig.exe and look to see that fsaa is off
also in your ati control panel under 3d put everything to balance.
I would rather run this game at higher rez then low rez with fsaa.

also do u have the hi res tires installed from RH
they have a big performace hit with alot of cars on track.
good luck. It really is one of the best racing games out there.
to bad the net code is so shoddy.

Are you using the stutterfix already ????

I have a lot of Race-Game-Links-Guides on my own Site, and Info.

And many more, also RBR :)
