As far as the term "knows" goes, nobody knows more then you do. We have RUMORS to go on, but little else. Nvidia is playing this one pretty close to the hip. I expect a possible 32 pipe card maybe? maybe not. Certainly not 64 pipes as some have thought tho. Non-unified shaders will most likely be Nvidia's deal this round while R600 goes fully unified. Beyond those little hints, we just don't KNOW enough to say for sure yet.

Oh thats just cruel.....Dammit, One of you guys know if It will be out before Cristmas? Id like to have a DX10 card ready for crysis!

moshpit Sep 11, 2006 03:18 PM

Both should be out for christmas, we hope. G80/R600 should be battling it out by years end with any luck.

Oh sweet candy, Im buying whatever flagship card Nv brings out, and a bigger monitor before crysis comes out.....May even push to a monitor capable of 1920x1200, at the least I want one that can do 1680x1050. Wdirescreen for meeeeeeee!

Also, Any guesses as to the Video memory powering these beasts, Im going for 1GB flagship cards.

moshpit Sep 11, 2006 03:28 PM

512mb will most likely be the launch flavors, tho I imagine 1G models will follow soon. Don't count the ATI Dx10 card out by any means as it could end up as the superior Dx10 card while the route Nvidia is going may make it the faster Dx9 card with Dx10 ability added in, tho not as fast in Dx10 as R600. That's PURE speculation tho, based on ATI's use of unified shaders versus Nvidia's route of a more traditional shader pipeline.

Little early to be discussing this isn't it?

I guess if this was in the rumor section, then it would better suite us making stuff up as we go. ;)

moshpit Sep 12, 2006 12:28 AM

I'm speculating. Not making stuff up. Big difference. But, yeah, rumor mill is a better home for this subject until it actually hits or we get official announcements.
