x1950 Pro 512 MB AGP = Wow

Just gotta chime in and say, Wow !

I'm impressed.

Upgraded the gf's rig from a Geforce 7800 GS 256 Mb to a Sapphire x1950pro 512 mb, and holy smokes !! This card is unbelievable ! ( Especially for an Agp card ). Gaming on her rig is almost as good as my 8800 & core 2 duo !

Spiderman 3 absolutely flies on this puppy.. no slowdowns whatsoever, details maxed with 4x AA. (mind you her 32" HDTV only supports 1280.1024, but w/e!) It looks great !

Call of Juarez plays with HDR and 4xAA, everything maxed. -Again, stunning.

There isn't one game this card can't handle !! I'm super impressed, if anyone out there is considering getting this card to hold you off for a while.. DO IT !!!! :)

Have one extremely impressed (Except STALKER or Supreme Commander run terrible) but those games are excluded because they have terrible performance issues on any setup.

Yes both games are expecting patches soon...so not long before they run up to par

They run terrible? Hmm, well I have yet to play Supreme Commander but STALKER runs amazingly well on her rig. It's actually as smooth as mine, and
the only difference is the resolution we play at. Other than that, it's just owns
STALKER !!

her comp:

Nforce 3 Ultra Motherboard
Amd x2 4200+
x1950Pro 512 Agp
1.5 Gb Ram
Creative X-fi Xtreme Music
Windows Xp

mine:
680i Motherboard
Core2 Duo E6300
2Gb Ram
Geforce 8800Gts 320mb
Windows Xp (for now)
Creative X-Fi Platinum

And seriously, I almost cannot tell the difference.

Something must be holdin' ur system back?!

Yep its a great card alright!!

Spitzfiya May 2, 2007 06:16 PM

It was either purchase this card or do a complete overhaul and upgrade to dual core, DDR2, PCI-E, ect.

I figure it will last me for a couple of years untill Windows Vista and DX 10 stabilize.

How do you run CoJ with both HDR and AA?

mrpergo May 5, 2007 06:15 AM

I didn't think Call of Juarez was out yet.
Doesn't it come out in June ? I've played the demo and enjoyed that. I love to get the full game. When did it come out ?

Hey there Spitzfiya, can you tell me more about your rig?
I'm thinking about purchasing this card and I would like to know if I'd get results similar to yours. The alternative is currently the weaker R600XL...

dreamingawake May 5, 2007 05:28 PM

COJ; playing the European version or whatever.

I think the Dx 10 version (American) comes out soon, yes.

Anyway, you can play it with HDR+AA with the latest patch installed.

There is an option in the settings in game for AA. It looks pretty cool !!

:D

Yeah you most definitely will be disappointed with performance in STALKER and SupCom. I'm positive you will have the same performance issues as me, and if you don't your probly lying like the first guy...or your oblivious and don't run it in Full Dynamic Lighting mode...:bleh:

Altho he said it has a 4200 X2 which is alot better then a 3800...

But like I said thats to be expected from those games

It's a great card for everything else mind you...
