Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018)

"Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics rebooted the series in 2013 with the self-titled game followed by the sequel “Rise of the Tomb Raider” in 2015, both scoring strong acclaim. Though an official title hasn’t been released, previous leaks suggest it will be “Shadow of the Tomb Raider”."

This is good news!

One of my favorite franchises...

bob saget Dec 7, 2017 11:17 PM

havnt started the second one yet but she felt a little too Rambo-ey in the first one. hopefully they get rid of that.

Here's hoping it will take a page from Rise and be even less like TR 2013

PowerK Dec 8, 2017 12:21 AM

This is great news.
I loved the the first reboot and the second one. Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of the very best (if not the best) looking title on PC. I can't wait for their third.

KAC Dec 8, 2017 12:52 AM

Ain’t nothing wrong with this.

logical Dec 8, 2017 01:44 AM

I'll buy it as well.

I loved the original TR games. These new gen ones not so much, got bored of Rise 1/3rd way through and never went back to finish it.

Conversely, I got sick of TR2 partway through, and none of the sequels ever captured my attention until the 2013 game. Did love the original TR1 though.

t0adp1p3 Dec 8, 2017 09:55 PM

I like them all, but I do miss the jumping puzzle dungeony type stuff. Every single game these days has the most retardest jumping ever, u literally cannot make a mistake anymore, it’s impossible to mess up, and that sucks.

OverclockN' Dec 8, 2017 10:49 PM

I like them all...

I do miss views from the older games though. You were always running around in beautiful locations with incredible views and backgrounds. Rise of the Tomb Raider brought a bit of that back though.

Also, like t0adp1p3 mentioned...actual tomb raiding and puzzles. Again, Rise of the Tomb Raider brought that back a little bit.

So is Lara going to finally get her dual pistols in this one? :bleh:

Munkus Dec 9, 2017 01:01 PM

Dat hair physics.

nutcrackr Dec 10, 2017 05:26 AM

RotTR was merely okay. Actually enjoyed TR 2013 more. They are serviceable action adventures. I liked the puzzles in the older games, but the combat was pretty bleh in those old ones. TR Underworld is underrated. I just want a world-jumping adventure with a fun story. Would like to see the croft manor return in a more useful and central role, different than the crappy DLC they released.

I kinda wish they would go for a bit of a lighter adventure, the last two have been pretty gloomy.

Agree

TR2013 I enjoyed from start to finish, Rise I forced myself to reach the ending. I was a bit bored by the end.

In the interest of interactive environment and physics, I'm thinking possible wardrobe malfunctions should be the new feature.

Megaman Dec 11, 2017 05:09 AM

Should be good. Need trailer ASAP.

OzzieBloke Dec 11, 2017 06:49 PM

I have not played a single Tomb Raider game all the way through. I think I played a demo of the original for all of 15 minutes.

Seyiji Mar 15, 2018 06:05 PM

Shadow of the Tomb Raider coming September 2018

Have a gay teaser trailer that is super gay and dumb that reveals the actual trailer will be out at the end of April.

well the original ones are completely different from the latest one(s). Gameplay changed from puzzle-solving, climbing and very very small amount of fighting to shoot, kill, massacre, QTE-galore and very small amount of puzzles. :bleh: People seem to love that though, maybe because of b0bs and vagene...

Exposed Mar 19, 2018 09:48 AM

I liked the Tomb Raider Anniversary remake (2007).

Now we need another remake of the original, but I don't think we'll see it.

I mean, the new games don't even have Lara with her trademark dual pistols yet

Arioch Mar 19, 2018 08:18 PM

I still remember playing the first Tomb Raider with 3dfx-enhanced graphics. :)

Tomb Raider (2013) was meh to me. Rise of the Tomb Raider was pretty good. I finished both games, which for me is impressive, I barely finish anything these days. Hoping this game takes a more light approach, last two games were pretty grim and felt like "how much torture can we put her through" tests. Would like more gun play too, though I guess at that point would start competing with the Uncharted games.

Lurk Mar 20, 2018 07:59 AM

I have enjoyed the cinematic feeling and the pace of the last gen TR games, though for some reason I'm always left with that kind of "rated PG" aftertaste the series seems to be clinging to when it comes to combat.

I played Tomb Raider 2013 all the way through but Rise of Tomb Raider felt boring and uninteresting. I only played about 30 minutes before uninstalling. The last Tomb Raider game I really enjoyed is Legend. I don't feel anything about this new one either.

Jerm357 Mar 20, 2018 12:25 PM

I also liked TR 2013 better than RotTR.
