CaliforniaRaisin Jul 2, 2005 07:38 AM

i dont have a digicam yet so ill make do w/ what's at the sony site

my whole new home theater lol

no surround sound, no frills (except the stand)

27" FD Trinitron® WEGA® TVKV-27FS120
FD Trinitron® WEGA Flat Screen
ClearEdge VM™ Wideband Velocity Modulation
16:9 Enhanced Mode
SRS® 3D Audio Effect
Component Video Input

sure i'd love a pioneer elite HDTV Plasma, but i love keeping my money more :p

remarkably enough though the simulated surround sound on this tv does a pretty good job as long as you arent too far from it, and the color reproduction is great. :)

I already know:
A center channel speaker and a new WS tube. It's pretty though, ain't it?

YOGIx213 Jul 21, 2005 05:06 PM

I have my HTPC setup as follows:

37" Panasonic EDTV Plasma (PANASONIC TH-37PWD7UY )
LG LST 3510-A HDTV Tuner/DVD Player
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Surround Speakers (Hooked up via optical to EDTV and analog setup with computer)
PC: Specs in sig.

I game on occasion on the plasma and it's awesome but not enough games are widescreen friendly. I found some tweaks online but not for all the games I love playing (like most of the PC Sports games). So more often than not, I game with my 17" Samsung LCD.

The Logitech Speakers are awesome IMO. They really add that theatre experience for me at a fraction of the cost of other HT speakers.

Sorry about not having pics, I'll try to get some when I get home (at work right now).

Here is my set-up. I really need to get a tripod.

Rockshocker Jul 30, 2005 06:23 AM

I'm getting a new 32" Sony WEGA TV and a Sony DVD 5.1 Home Theater in a box on Monday, I'm so excited to have surround sound on something other than my computer. I'm sure it will not sound as good as my computer, but I could be wrong.

Maybe someone can answer this question because I never asked, the tv does 480i with the DVD Player if I plug it in with the 3 different coloured plugs, component or composite I think it's called, is that considered High Definition?

I'll post a pic if I even get my digital camera back :)

Trunks0 Jul 30, 2005 06:54 AM

The 3 color one is called "component". And No, it just means you will have a nicer connection for the video :)

Can't wait to see some picture of it though :)

I'm pretty sure it wont sound as good as the Logitech's either.

Rockshocker Aug 2, 2005 05:32 AM

Ok, I got my HT setup yesterday, and wouldn't you know it, the remote for the amplifier was missing, but the remote for the tv controlled the basic functions of the amp so I did get to set it up and play with it for a bit before getting the remote for the amp, I don't know how it's possible for there not to be one.

Anyhow, the tv is so much bigger in my living room than it looked in the store and the picture in 16:9 Enchanced Mode is so nice. Not HDTV but still awesome, best I've ever had so far :)

The speakers are weak looking and the sub feels cheap but after hooking it all up and playing around with it I'm actually quite impressed with the sound. I'm not sure what number the volume goes up to but at 30 it's pretty loud and very clear, lots of bass as well. I'm gonna do a sound comparison later on today between my computer and my HT setup, they are in the same room so it will be easy to judge.

The only gripe I have is that the remote control for the amp has so many buttons and the layout is not very well thought out and when watching a movie at night it's hard to find some of the buttons because they are pretty much the same size and shape.

I have to pics, if I find my webcam I can take a couple shots of it, oh ya my poor birds have never been so scared before, watching Gothica freaked them out so I had to remove them from the living room until the end of the movie, and of course they had to sit on my shoulder all scared lol.

And the speakers, too. Last month my relatives brought kids over to our house party and I had to leave my floorstanders' grill covers on (I usually leave mine off) to prevent them from becoming too curious and poke the drivers.

Never posted an update when I got a pair of bigger speakers and a new DVD player (fairly recently).

See first page for my previous pic and list.

The front two JBL N24II's are now a pair of JBL E30's. My Panasonic S35S DVD player is now replaced by the Panasonic S77 (DCDi  ) (new TV stand in this pic I got last Christmas)

That is a nice Pioneer setup. They make the best plasmas around, hands down, no competition.

Here's how my home my theater is stacking up. I'm still in the speaker purchasing phase, but the Rockets (ones in redish color) are staying.

You see in the picture:
Sony RP LCD 55" 55XS955 tv
Harman Kardon 435
Yamaha DVD/DA/SCD C750 player
Rocket Signature 750 speakers (redish ones) from av123.com
Aperion 533-Power Towers, Aperion center and rears.

Too bad there isn't room for the bigfoot (RSC200). :(

Well, I'm planning to have one of these solve that problem:
http://www.standsandmounts.com/index...OD&ProdID=2411
http://www.standsandmounts.com/index...OD&ProdID=3721
http://www.standsandmounts.com/index...OD&ProdID=3800

Now if I ever got the RSC500 when that comes out, then I'd have big problem.

Check out it's specs, what a center channel:

RSC500

QUAD 5.25" mid-bass couplers...

1 X 4" midrange...

1 X Vifa XT Ring Radiator Tweeter

2 X 8" (very custom) woofers (isobarik loaded, down firing on a "shaped platform base")... with a 350 watt beast driving them...

One VERY interesting XO for the system above 80Hz...

Roughly... $1195... with trades allowed...

Not going to see the light of day until 2006.

drusi3r Oct 15, 2005 07:09 AM

its a 30" samsung "slim-fit" sry dont know the model off the top of my head but i love it (for the price it cant be beat imo)

satch919 Oct 17, 2005 10:36 PM
