I'll send him a PM but I'm pretty sure he's got it right... Maybe he did a conversion?

Or it's just backwards.

If he did a conversion, then he basically killed the biggest advantage the Ford GT 4v has over the lightning.

I'm sure he just goofed on the video.

Isle of Man, balls out road racing. Some nasty accidents in there!

0-100km/hr [62 mph] > 3:10 secs
0-200km/hr [124 mph] > 6:90 secs
0-300km/hr [186 mph] > 19:10 secs

For comparison.. a Corvette Z06 (C6) will apparently do 0-300km/hr in 41.8 secs
Corvette ZR1 (C6) 0-300km/hr > 32.6 secs

Amazing what under 15 grand can get you in the sport bike world.

Grov Sep 4, 2011 05:12 PM

But then it's not hard to see why, the weight of the biker and driver, and 200bhp or over or whatever it might be. Still slower in the corners lol.

Nunz Sep 4, 2011 09:22 PM

Slower in the corners? How did you come to that conclusion?

It's true. Simple fact is 4 tires provide more traction than 2.

On long winding turns it isn't much of a limitation, but when things get tight, cars have an edge.

Sure, motorcycles are lighter than cars (duh!). I don't care how simplistic or light-weight a vehicle is - if it can get me to 300km/hr in under 20 seconds that is pretty damn impressive IMO.

Nunz Sep 5, 2011 12:17 AM

when its acceleration is so much greater I suppose the cornering isn't much of a factor. I can't see a motorbike being "slow" in corners.
EDIT - Actually, that's my fault. I read his post as saying Cornering is still slow, not slower.

I think I've lost my mind. College. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Grov Sep 5, 2011 06:10 PM

Think how much contact a bike has with the tarmac when it's cornering hard? It's not much, and a car has twice as many wheels in contact with the road.

Nunz Sep 5, 2011 09:32 PM

I think it does come down to the rider to an extent. Yes, bikes will never go shot for shot with a car in corners, but it's not bad.
The bike could catch up pretty easy with the quicker acceleration on the exit of the turn anyway, no?

Wow. He stayed on the throttle the entire freakin time, unbelievable. You can hear thing thing just pinging off the rev limiter the whole time he is spinning out. Was probably on cold streets and tires also.

I love that ****. The bike probably cost a few hundred grand less than that car.

Motorcycling is so much better bang for the buck if you are a speed freak.
