I noticed a lot of you still use the logitech speakers, cant remember the model. The one with the huge powered subwoofer and the breakout control pod w/ remote. I still have mine too. For computer speakers it would be hard to find a replacement : )

For $250, they're unbeatable and discontinued. Bass was huge, sats go into ear-piercing boost mode, and DD/DTS make it a good computer speaker/HTiB.

The Xbox360 looks tiny in those pics Scott!

z680's they are pretty much unbeatable still. I was looking into upgrading to the newest logitechs, model number not on the top of my head but realized its pretty unrealistic for a computer thats in a small room office. They were worth every penny and will probably have them for another 5 years. I love to crank them up when i can, that subwoofer does put out some mighty bass.

zamoxis Feb 2, 2007 07:22 PM

heres some more technical junk..

office area..

A Mame Cab, which i hope to soon install a brand new pc setup in, and a work table that looks very busy and 2 cat beds.

Latest one's are the Z-5500, but im guessing those are discontinued now too, cause its hard to find them at any store.

Does that also show on HD-ILA sets? If so, there will be no perfect HDTV technology so far :(

 it does show.

Powered by this (will be ceiling-mounted, with a semi-hush box very soon):

Giving this kind of image (un-tweaked, creative cinema setting)

HTPC
Athlon64 3000+ (will probably upgrade to an Opteron 165)
Asus A8N-E
Gigabyte 6600GT Fanless (will probably upgrade to a 8600GT, fanless with HDCP over HDMI card, when it comes out)
1 Gig of Corsair DDR 400 RAM
M-Audio Revolution 7.1
Tuner Hauppauge PVR-350 (will probably upgrade to be able to capture digital signals)
250 Gig Seagate 7200.9 (will probably upgrade for a quieter, faster drive like a Samsung Spinpoint)
Mistumi Floppy drive + 7 in 1 card reader
Pioneer DVR-111D DVD-RW drive
SilverStone Lascala LC-03 Case

Sound : Logitech Z-5500e

Screen : Elite 4:3 Manual pull-down

Projector : Sanyo PLV-Z5

TV : Samsung 26 inches LCD

I don't think so, sorry. Unless it's the same size of the 6600GT...

On this pic you can see the space left after the graphic card*

* Notice I've changed the NB fan for a fanless Zalman heatsink so I'm not sure you can add a card that has a heatsink/fan combo that takes up 2 slots...

Okay, I've Tried Posting This Like 5 Times Now, It Won't Ever Show Up

Anyways, Here's Mine:

20" Widescreen Viewsonic Monitor[1680x1050].
Logitech Z-5500s.
XBOX 360.
McDonalds Cheeseburger W/o Pickles And Onions.
Andy Capps Hot Fries.

Getting A New Desk Soon BTW.

yes the bass ports are plugged ,they come with the speakers.

'' If you want to reduce the bass level without moving the speakers further from the wall, fit the foam bungs in the port tubes.''

Dude, that is ridiculous. Two plasmas next to each other?

That smaller one should either be mounted in your bathroom or on the ceiling above your bed where it could get some real use. Hell, couple it with a wireless remote and decent video camera and it could double as a mirror above your bed. ;) ;) ;)

Just get a decent AVR to switch connections to the bigger one :p (and maybe something nicer to sit them on rather than end tables ;))

switchAMG Sep 9, 2007 09:49 PM

I have a big lcd in my room already. And yea, its a mess right now -- some dude is coming over next week to set them up properly. Going to wall mount both of them and hide cabling.

DeathKnight Sep 9, 2007 09:54 PM

You're rolling in too much dough with all that oil moula :p

NITE Sep 9, 2007 10:29 PM

Actually, the bass plug was widely used in the Marantz HD-880. It was called vari-Q.Dates about 25 years ago.
Damn, I'm old.
But Bowers and Wilkins are damn fine toys.
Got Kef 105.4's myself being driven by a SQ, and Kenwood M2's.

NITE

I am surprised to see my pic on the last page of this thread still, but even more surprised that the Wii has enough memory to view all these images.

Anyways, we just got an Onkyo TXSR605 in the mail and surrond sound should be arriving soon. Hopefully 7.1, but possibly 5.1. Anything is better as we are currently using the TV speakers. LOL Pics to come.

What in the world?

That's not even cool, that's ridiculous. Why would anyone want two large TV's in a single room? Or two TV's in any room for that matter...?

Very strange.

DaMack Oct 25, 2007 11:55 AM

Any of you guys ever done a dedicated home theater room?

I want to convert the storage room

It's a huge room something like 25 by 20 foot so I figure if I sit about 20 feet from the screen I can have a 200 inch screen for movie viewing and the LCD for normal TV viewing.

My friend has a similar set up and it's well worth the money
