You can use your sound card line-in in order to use the aiwa speakers as your TV speakers.

How? Just run an RCA-->minijack cable from the TV audio outs to the line-in and have the PC on whenever I want to watch TV? Or do I go from the cable box to the sound card?

edit---nevermind, I forgot that my amp has more inputs, I can just use those

ASCI Blue Oct 30, 2006 09:49 PM

as I'm in the process of moving I have no pics however I can toss up what I've got.

Toshiba 32" LCD
Onkyo front channels (8")
Klipsch rear channels (5 1/4")
Klipsch 10" sub
HTPC specs in sig connected via VGA.
Pioneer VSX-412
Cube/Xbox/PS2 all with highdef cables.

I currently have the LCD on the sub, which works pretty well unless I turn the sub up then one can see the effect of a loud boom on the LCD's screen.

Dang what kind of power output youy got going on there with all those amps. Im pushing around 800 watts x7 into 4 ohms on my surround setup and 1600 x2ohms in the subs....Just curious

Chair Nov 8, 2006 02:16 PM

that's not my setup, I was using it as an example

plus surround amps would pale in comparison to those tubed monoblocks, huge difference in power.

NEODARK Dec 9, 2006 11:46 PM

Well, good of course!

The only thing I don't like on the SXRD is what is called the "silk screen effect". It is noticeable on bright areas of pictures. Apart from that, the picture is great.

Does that also show on HD-ILA sets? If so, there will be no perfect HDTV technology so far :(

Dunno. But, I compared it to the Mitsubishi that is often compared to the XBR2 and it was just as bad. I guess some people notice it more than others.

Looks awesome man

Matrix0507 Jan 8, 2007 11:52 AM

I'll try to get mine up tonight after work. I finally feel it is ready to post :) (just finished my HTPC and it is sitting proudly atop my entertainment cabinet :D )

Update: I know the pics are useless but I did my best.

Onkyo 7.1 Reciever, Onkyo CD Player, generic dvd player (although now obsolete due to the object in the last pic ;) )

Here's what the whole thing looks like from afar.

My HTPC I recently built. This thing is a gift from god.

Camster Jan 20, 2007 12:32 PM

Here is my setup. 44" DLP, XBOX 360, Polk Surrounds & Yamaha Receiver.

Nice equipment, but placed wrong.... i'm sure you can do better then that.... This is not a negative response from me, this is just a tip.
YOu have the room, space, and all the good stuff. Now you just need to place it correct. Clean up the room, throw stuff away that you don't use etc..

But if you feel comfortable in the room your in, then that´s all that matters.

Great setup and nice HTPC! what´s inside it ?

Thanks for the suggestion and compliments man...The HTPC I recently built and is still kindof a work in progress (slowing down now but just last night I added a crapload of emulators/roms to the gameex frontend for MCE) That thing is a bitch to setup but worth it in the long run when you have a veritable arcade in your bedroom ;)
The case doesn't really have anything lavish in it but the highlights are:
---------------------------------------------------------------
-Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (using Acronis True Image to backup OS partition)
-2.4c HT P4
-Sapphire X800XT Platinum Edition,
-2x1GB PC3200,
-Almost 900GB storage:
300GB (Video),
300GB (Music, Emulation, Programs, Pictures, and Misc),
250GB (Recorded Television)
-Hauppauge Dual TV Tuner
-Audigy 4 Digital out to Reciever for Dolby Decoding
-500w powersupply
-I have two Logitech Cordless Gaming Duo for the Emulations (I think this is the best freaking part of the setup)
-Wireless Mouse/keyboard
-DVD Reader/Writer

So as you can see its nothing special but it really does the trick. It is essentially my old computer tweaked for Home Theatre use.

also, since you mentioned it. What exactly do you mean by "wrong placement" Where would you put everything? Eitherway, this is only temporary as I am moving into my own appartment in Philadelphia with my girfriend soon. Then I will have all the space I need to do things right. (cable management   ) The mess in my current room has kind of buildup over the years...:(

I see something from Ikea..

zamoxis Feb 1, 2007 06:40 PM

Samsung 46" 1080 DLP among other stuff

Samsung DLP HLR4677W
Onkyo TX-SR504 High Current 7.1 Reciever
Bose III series 2 Front speakers, Yamaha Center and rear channels
Media Center PC with Audigy Platinum EX & ATI Radeon x1600 XT
Dreamcast
Xbox

I noticed a lot of you still use the logitech speakers, cant remember the model. The one with the huge powered subwoofer and the breakout control pod w/ remote. I still have mine too. For computer speakers it would be hard to find a replacement : )

zamoxis Feb 1, 2007 06:47 PM

Real nice stuff here

Lupine Feb 1, 2007 08:54 PM
