I notice a few update back my start menu stops working sometimes. I had to kill Shell Experience Host to get it back up. Any one else experiencing this? They shouldn't be forcing updates that it break the start menu.

Windows.UI.Xaml.dll is version 10.0.14393.351 and ShellExperienceHost.exe is version 10.0.14393.447. Should those not match if you're running the latest cumulative update (14393.447)? I honestly have no idea if that's the cause, or how it might've happened, though... it just looked unusual to me.

I'd try creating a system image that you could revert back to (just in case), and then try refreshing Windows, or maybe running the setup for the vanilla 1607 (if you have it) and then updating straight to the latest cumulative update to see if it fixes it.

This is why I make a backup image every month before the latest cumulative update drops. And the state of the default start menu in Win10 is why I use Classic Shell. :yep:

After I installed the second 1070 and of course Windows updates I had a start menu crash. Rebooted and the Start Menu was back up. It didn't seem to affect anything else though when it crashed or didn't display much of anything. I thought it was related to SLI but maybe not. I have more work to do with SLI but currently strapped and probably will not get to it until Thursday.
