Windows 10 and games

Finally getting to trying to run many of my games after my fully clean Win10 install.

Holy hell, I'm surprised how many of them are having difficulty starting, looking proper or crashing after only a few minutes.

Problems with TDU2, Fallout NV, GTA4, Oblivion, GTA2, Carmageddon 2, 4x4 Hummer, Drakensang, Dragon Age, these are issue game so far. I have dozens more to go through.

Some surprise games that do work with no issue are Bully and Fuel.

I have:

Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2 SotFS
Fallout NV + dlc
Fallout 4
Witcher 3
X-Plane
risen demo

All installed and running no problems, although I did have some driver related issues last month. Rolling back to an earlier release fixed it.

I know this is no help, but I haven't found a single game that won't run. Have you tried compatibility mode?

no issues in win10 with 8 games out of that list that I played. you will need to be more specific on the exact errors, anything in the event log, driver version, etc.

I'd like to know how you guys got Games for Windows games to work. Every GFW game I've tried failed.

Quite a few GFWL games had that patched out of them after GFWL support was dropped. If the games you're trying to play were never patched, then all I can do is wish you luck.

Perhaps some of you don't have many games installed?

I have probably 100. I've gotten many (most, its going to take a while to get through them all) to work but lots of Compatibility mode parameters being used by myself and also Win10 doing it automatically.

Where does one EXACTLY find what Win10 has set for various game compatibilities when it does it automatically?

There's this...although I'm guessing mileage would vary with drivers, maybe other factors...

The only game I've had trouble with so far is Far Cry 4 - I have to exit and restart Uplay every time I run it, or it hangs on the loading screen. Everything else I've tried runs without a problem.

No game properly works under Windows 10 for me. Grand Theft Auto V is a great example of stuttering and freezing every couple seconds and then eventually plays. No issues I have in Windows 7 with same driver set.

Windows 10 -> garbage.

How is GTA4 working for all you Win10 owners?

Edit: finally got GTA4 to work by installing icehancer 3.0 mod. It somehow alters the video properties and prevents GTA4 from hanging at a black screen at the startup menu.
