Win10 no boot issues are likely impossible to fix

Quick share of my experience...

4 days ago I got 'inaccessible boot device' on startup of Win10. Confirmed boot drive is seen, in boot order and ok.

I tried EVERYTHING for 8 hours trying to fix this checking/using bios, bootrec, safe mode, startup recovery disk, win10 install thumbdrive, sfc, Dism, mbr, 3rd party boot repair software, etc, etc. I kept saying this HAS to be fixable.

Reinstalling Win10 was the only way for the boot drive to be seen again.

I wasted 2 days getting my PC back to where I want.
Win10 really does some funky hacky sh*t being so unfixable.

I now have a solid backup plan. :hmm:

Yeah, I saw that but that wasn't my case.

I did run chkdsk after the fact in attempts to repair the no boot so I suppose it could of hosed the win10 install even further.

Did you try the command that converts MBR to UEFI? It seems to fix other boot issues as well. Also you can always run a reset windows that will keep all your files but delete everything else. However, it works great with all game downloaders except Windows Store and Epic. All other downloaders are able to recover and reset the games back to their original positions without needing to redownload shite.

The MBR2GPT command.

I did not try that and now you made me read and learn stuff. ;)

Turns out my motherboard is from 2012 so it is very early UEFI stage and does not support proper firmware EFI booting. I might be able to force use GPT if I use the 'remove the bootmgr file' hack but I don't think that will pan out well.

And I sure as heck don't want to waste more of my time messing around trying.

Besides, I'm moving on.
