vigLink links appearing on discussions

Hello only recently did i realized many in-text links are in reality direct links to ebay and have nothing to do with the supposed text they highlight, is this intentional or is this a virus?

Same. It's annoying. Viglink is creating links out of random key words. For example, someone posted the text "it's a pain" and Viglink made pain a link to eBay.

Edit: and it just did it for "eBay"

Admin, any way to knock this crap off?

BTW you can disable Viglinks in your current browser by going to https://www.viglink.com/opt-out and opting out of it. Doing so sets a cookie to tell Viglink to disable itself, so if you clear your cache & cookies you'll need to enable the cookie again.

How do you do this crap on phone. I am getting a ton of keyword ads in Safari.

Is anyone else having issues with these Viglink things again? I have it disabled on this page but am still getting the annoying Viglinks in posts. What happened?

[EDIT] Oh so it should be set to ENABLED? Links seem to be gone now when set to enabled on that page. I must have cleared my cookies and when I went to fix Viglinks I set it to disabled when it should be enabled. Confusing to my feeble mind apparently.

[EDIT2] Nope, the links are back. They keep reverting, and I have to keep going back and re-enabling on the opt out page. So something may be wrong with the cookie saving on my browser.

[EDIT3] OK looks like the Adblock add-on in Firefox was updated and maybe I needed to adjust settings. Enabling "Block additional tracking" and disabling "Allow Acceptable Ads" seems to have fixed the Viglinks coming back.
