Site Outage & Response

Howdy Ragers.

Site was down for about an hour. At this time the cause is undetermined. Kudos to our our host, Optic Fusion, for its responsiveness in helping get the server back online.

This is a reminder that we're very overdue for major site maintenance. The staff and I will be discussing this in-depth, including where to from here, and your input would be appreciated as well.

Plz jam a Rage 5.0 into our quivering b-holes my gai we've been waiting so long for it :D
 
Rage 5.0 is being written by George R.R. Martin, and will be released after he finishes the GoT series.
 
I say dump the forums, start a discord, and fire up a Patreon. Keeping up with tech news is a full-time job.
 
I think newer vBulletin iterations tried very hard to move away from being a forum and more geared towards a content management system, and it looks like with 5.6 (at least) they've walked some of that back.

I go back to some of my old posts for sanity checks, and would hate to lose that if an upgrade meant a fresh start.

Other than that, I have no great input.

I'm with Crawdaddy....if there's a way to at least archive the present forums and make it accessible, that would be preferable.
 
I've noticed that there are lots of "guests" at times. Yesterday it was over 700 and the site was slow AF. Right now there are over 1000 but it seems fine?
