Just curious, what do you believe we were trying to turn this into?
Because, honestly, I just see this as a very civil way of pointing out mistakes to someone in power. I had hoped that this whole ordeal was done in a way that it would show that person in power something that they may not have known that they were doing. I had hoped that would have came in the 'welcome' thread.
Kind of like a teaching moment.
A lot of people don't realize that they have biases until they are in a position of power over others. At that point, they have to be very careful, mindful, and knowledgeable with their actions. Exposed may not have known that he was shutting down posts critical of right wing media. He may not have known that his actions were being perceived in that way. I believe that he knows that now. And I hope, going forward that he thinks about his actions carefully.
I get that we all make mistakes. I do. I also saw a pattern in his actions that I did not agree with and felt the need to speak up. And like I said, it's nothing against him. I just don't like being a part of something where posts get shut down with little to no cause. I also didn't like that he was deleting and closing threads critical of right wing news. Especially in a P&R forum. My actions would not have changed if it was a left wing person doing the same.
Crawdaddy's assessment was spot on, it was a "pre-emptive" strike to prevent the thread (which imo wasn't really a P&R topic in the first place, it was just sugar coated as one) from blowing up, especially with the tone is was presented with.
However it was my judgement to close it, rather than let it spill it out to the intended audience it would eventually draw in and implode and then be closed anyway. I'm all for discussing logical fallacies especially since it covers many of the arguments presented in the (non) scientific community, slipping it into P&R specifically and with that tone was a bit dubious.
It was a judgement call. Shoot me or kiss me, let us move on.

I was asked to return as well, but I think I’ve been overdoing the screens so I’m taking a break from electronics for a few days (light usage). Once I’m good then yes, I’ll be back.
Exposed CAN be a good mod. Whether he becomes that or not is up to him. Going to make sure BS is called out when it’s presented but also to give credit when/if it’s due.
