Who runs this place now? Are written reviews still popular, or does one now need a Youtube presence to do this with any degree of success? Am I too old for this ****?

He left for another forum that died as well I think. Tech sites get turned into yahoo these days. See techreport.com for an example.

I put a lot of time into this place back, uh, 15 years ago? Longer? 20 years!? 20 years ago I did my first review here! HOLY ****! :embarrassed:

Jesus. Crazy to see some of you old guys still hanging in there along with Rage3D itself though. I still recognize plenty of names.

I wonder where we'd be if I had actually gotten real ownership of this place... probably long dead, honestly. I got real tired of being awake 3 or 4 days straight (several times a month) working on reviews and keeping the site fresh, and my personality always conflicted with having to wait for approval to do something that I thought was obvious and needed doing, even if it wasn't. I also couldn't take critism even it was meant to help, and when I got any I got super annoyed. It all started to take it's toll and I eventually burnt out completly.

Regardless, I drop in from time-to-time to see how things are going and it brings back some not-so-terrible memories. I really miss the writing and putinh together the reviews, but I don't miss the other things more.

Rage is anything but fresh but after seeing so many of the old hardware sites die off, I'm glad Rage has lived on for the community that continues to hang here.

Did we ever get the user registration functionality working again? Not being able to recruit new members definitely slowed down the progress of the site significantly. Otherwise I'm sure EVERYBODY would want to be here!
