Grim Fandango, LS 6155C3 and DirectX7

Grim Demo WAS running on my Xpert 128 with the 6155 drivers (4020 D3d) and DirectX 6.1. I changed to 6155C3 and DirectX 7 and now the screen has horizontal lines, very hard to see what is going on. Did the Zbuffer change on this driver set or what? Or did DirectX 7 mess this up? (I upgraded both in an attempt to get Descent 3 running faster, but what I really need is 96 to 128 meg of RAM to do the game justice.)

Are you sure you have the coluours set up properly for grim fandango? Read the read me as it has notes on the desktop settings, this may be your problem.

I tried setting the Zbuffer to 16, (not 16,24,32 as default) and there was no change. Odd, since it WAS working fine with 6155Ci and DirectX 6.1, now screwed up with 6155Ci3 and DirectX 7. I made sure to clock my video back down to 103/103, my processor back down to 333, and the same result. Other applications seem to work fine. I don't think I should reinstall the demo, should I? I wonder if I still have the old driver set or DirectX 6.1 around. I'm tempted to go for the drivers, I don't know how well downgrading DirectX will go...
