Far Cry 6: PC graphics performance benchmark review

Those results are quite puzzling. They're all over the place. Somehow the 3090 is slower than a 3080 in one result, but then ~15fps faster than anything else in another.

Maybe game needs a patch or the person doing the tests hit some anomalies.

Very possible; the only other thing I can think of, is even at 1440p he's hitting CPU limitations. When you hit CPU limits like that, the faster GPU can end up being slower than something it's, on paper, faster than.

I don't understand how the game could be so poorly optimized on the CPU side considering the engine isn't some new miracle they made. Looks like it's barely utilizing multiple threads.

I bet the 11900K is stomping every other chip in this game. I'd love to see some CPU performance comparisons..

 those 6600XT numbers are pretty embarrassing given that the 5700XT is outperforming it . Still those 1440p numbers are suggesting it going to make playing the game perfectly enjoyable for me :)

And yea the Vega 56/64 series looks to be getting that classical AMD thing of aging like fine wine here. Same could be said for the 5700XT really. That card is holding really strongly here as well.

I really liked my 5700XT it did the job at 1440p. I gave it to my son for free now he's enjoying it. Great card TBH.

If AMD has a small victory in a game then 'something's wrong'.

If Nvidia wins the benchmark then 'of course that's expected'.

Some things will never change.:hmm:

Considering I'm the only one in the thread that thought something is off, I'll take it as that is directed at me. Let me explain as I don't ever mention AMD at all anyway.

I don't think something is wrong because AMD is performing well in a Ubisoft game (which is expected and par the course). I think something is wrong because the 3090 is somehow slower than a 3080 in some of his results. Appears to be a CPU limitation, which would explain that, sort of.
