Anyone ever done with virtualization gaming before?

Hey guys.

I already build a new third rig. I've enabled the IOMMU controller in the UEFI menu. I'm running Ubuntu MATE 16.04 64-bit Beta. I don't know if which KVM, QEMU, or Xen that is the best and easiest to setup the virtualization for me? See below for the computer spec. Do I need another GPU and a second monitor, or I could just use the single monitor? (can switch the video source). I'm not sure if I know what am I doing. I'm still researching on the internet. But there are a lot of guides and unsure which to use the one of them.

AMD FX-8350
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 R5
G.Skill Sniper 16GB DDR3 1866
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD (I will add another high capacity SSD or HDD soon)
Gigabyte Windforce Radeon 7950 3GB Ghz Edition
PS/2 Keyboard (Can this PS/2 pass the passthrough?)
Etekcity gaming optical mouse USB

Xen or KVM requires a second dedicated GPU if you want to game with it.

If you have an integrated GPU, you can use that for Linux and then PCI passthrough your main GPU to virtualized Windows - look at the ArchLinux PCI "passthrough via OVMF" guide how to set it up for KVM/QEMU which is easier than Xen and doesn't require a special kernel.

Yeah, I don't have an intergrated GPU since it's AMD FX-8350, so yeah I will need to get another GPU.

and thanks. Will do that when I'm free to do. I have work today. So I will look into it later.

P.S. Do I still need to activate Windows OS after set up the configuration, right?

You do even if you're using a cloned one because the hardware will change radically. I would just reinstall a fresh Win. Win10 + generic key should work (Google, they have generic installation keys), then it should activate itself and you'll have a working copy without any morally questionable hacks - I doubt this will work after July.

I haven't done the setup lately but we did one for my ex-job, I think I'll take a peek at it myself again since I have multiple GPUs at hand now :)

Can I add you as friend on steam by any chance? Also aim on pidgin as well? I could use PM, but my inbox is always full.
