Corsair k100 air for 179 on Newegg. Looks like a versatile keyboard on paper. It'll to be my first mechanical keyboard. I've been using a Surface split keyboard. Low profile cherry switches what could go wrong?:bleh:

Its just a PCIE3 but thats my mobo's spec and its too cheap to ignore and too many games now need nvme. 247$ CAD shipped.

Edit: bought at Newegg and its a 4 TB model. It uses TLC not QLC so better TBW's and it has dram.

WD SN770m 2230 1TB ssd $87.09. For my ROG ally.
SHARGE Disk M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure to reuse the SSD I'm upgrading from the ally. It got a cute itty bitty fan.

Final Fantasy 7 remake on EPIC games store for $24. The store is giving out 33% off voucher to redeem on top of the game 50% off.

Base model 16" M3 Pro Macbook pro (yes in the new space black....). Old 27" Imac is no longer getting security updates and Apple said there will be no plans to update that in the near future. Got 200 off from BBY which essentially took off sales tax. I have to say the speakers on this thing is pretty awesome. Yes it has a V shaped frequency curve but the two days I've been using it I did not find it tinny at all like most weak laptop speakers. Also the Promotion XDR screen puts my 5k Imac's screen to shame, just wish it wasn't so small. Hope it lasts/is supported for 7-8 years like my previous macs and to that end I'm slow charging it with the 20w iphone brick (which it will do even if you're just using the machine browsing the web and such).

Well might want to hold off with charging a macbook with an iphone charger as I noticed the cycle count going up faster than it should be. I'm going to go back to the charger it came with and see if that fixes it.

I picked up a refurbished 12TB hard drive on eBay from goharddrive. I've seen a lot of these deals lately. They are supposedly used in datacenters and are being cycled through. For $80 I figured it's worth the gamble.

These have the Power Disable feature, so they don't boot up on a regular system. Fortunately, the seller provided a SATA power adapter that works around the issue.

I think it said that these drives were in use for up to 5 years. The SMART data on mine says about 500 days of use. Others have reported much longer use so I seem to have got lucky, at least on that part.

Now I just need to acquire enough porn to fill this drive.

If that's Power-up-in-standby, you can probably find tools to disable that in the firmware so it's not an ongoing concern.

Pioneer Elite VSX-LX305 A/V receiver for $519 from Adorama. Finally upgrading from my old Onkyo TX-SR605 from 2007.

ROG SWIFT PG32UCDM 32 inch 4K 240 Hz QD OLED DOPE AF monitor.
FF7 Rebirth
Horizon Forbidden West PC Master Race Edition

No I don't think so. The Power Disable feature is a feature meant for data centers. Apparently it allows you to remotely power down a hard drive.

I also recently bought a new power supply. I was using a Corsair Gold AX750 for a long time. I think it was one of the earlier gold rated PSUs. I had it since 2011.

I went with this one: Fsp Hydro Ptm X Pro 850w 80+ Platinum Full Modular Psu Power Supply Unit - Atx 3.0 Pcie Gen 5. W/ 12vhpwr Cable

At the beginning of the year the store had more in stock and they were selling for $120 (CAD).

Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM monitor. Expecting it to arrive today. Can't wait!
Nice, I bought the same. It is absolutely fantastic. Let me know if you have VRR flicker in menus of games (only happens in grey menus like COD MW3 and SF6). So I turned it off and no more flicker.

Very dull but started a self invested pension plan for the little one so she's got something waiting when she retires.
That's forward thinking. Have to wonder if an intermediate goal of down payment on a house might not be a bigger impact overall though? Ownership VS lifetime of rent.
