DUXFORD, UK, November 17, 2009 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics will release Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2.0 in early 2010. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2.0 will feature the same world environment and game functionality as the Digital Combat Simulation (DCS) series and will be online compatible with the Ka-50 attack helicopter simulation DCS: Black Shark www.digitalcombatsimulator.com. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2.0 will allow Lock On pilots and Black Shark pilots to now fly online together in both cooperative and head-to-head online play.

The Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2.0 upgrade for owners of Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1.12 will be available for sale as a download from the Eagle Dynamics Lock On web site for $14.99 USD. http://lockon.co.uk/. Biggest update I noticed - Runs in DirectX 9c. Wonder if that means the crappy water is now gone ?

Crappy water? Was that not state of the art when the game released?

Maybe in 2003 but alas that was short lived as 'water' came in leaps and bounds the following year I remember. DCS: Black Shark still has that same beautiful water I believe, just felt like a dated but very complex game. If they make some leaps to 2008/9 standards then I may be up for upgrading my copy...

Woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeeeeaaahhh Time To Break Out My X52!!! Woohoooo

Yes! WHOOOOOOOOOO

So excited!

Probably the best gaming news I’ve heard in a long time. Time to get a new video card so I can play this bad mofo on 1920x1080 with 24x FSAA and 16AA. Load up the dozens of mods I have, high res textures, high res weapon models, etc etc.

Can’t wait to have completely air war between flights of blacksharks, escorted by flights of su 27 and mig29’s with su25 ground pounders against flights of f-16s, f-15s, f-18s and a-10s!

And oh, lets throw in a load of ground units in there as well. M1s vs t80s duking it out on the ground below as we provide air cover.

DAMNNNN STRAIGHT

I've never played Lock On before. I have a 'full demo' that I acquired years ago but never tried til today, and it appears to be corrupt. I only just read about Flaming Cliffs 2.0 today and it sounds so cool I've ordered Lock On and Flaming Cliffs discs in anticipation of this upgrade. I have Saitek rudder pedals on the way which I ordered after I started playing Rise of Flight and can't wait to try them out in as many sims as I can get my hands on. Also the last 'modern combat flight sim' I played seriously was F-19 Stealth Fighter on my 286, I think it's about time I had a decent go at a modern modern combat flight sim.

Anyone play this online ? It's a whole different ball game that will get your heart rate up so that you can feel it in your throat .

Online numbers are not soo high, so if yes, those interested could maybe get on one of the few habitated lomac servers on Hyperlobby .

Don't worry, none of you will ever come close to my skills, as i can maintain a 3:1 k/d ratio on the busiest server, but it might be fun none the less
