Default Delivery men can kiss my butt

I bought a new place and had furniture from 3 different stores scheduled to be delivered Dec 1st between 12-5pm. I wait, and wait, finally around 3:00 I call The Brick.

Despite my sofa, loveseat and chair being in stock a month and a half ago at time of purchase, they are currently out of stock and didn't think to let me know. A lot of rude complaining on my part got me $110 back.

I call Sears. They gave me some BS excuse that the delivery men were there at 1:01 PM and no one was home. Funny. No mattress to sleep on.

I call Leons. "Sorry Sir, we didn't have a delivery date set for you" DESPITE the lady at the counter assuring me Dec 1st would be fine when I bought the bloody bedroom set.

Fast forward to today, Sears was supposed to drop off my mattress for the second time between 8-9pm and AGAIN did not show up.

I am going to raise hell tomorrow with the sorry sucker that answers the phone. Fricken unbelievable. I know most guys who deliver stuff don't give a rat's azz about their job but is it too much to ask for a flippin phone call if you're unable to make it? FFS

Sounds like the delivery men were never given anything to deliver for you.

That reminds me of the "fun" i had recently with UPS who should deliver my last rig. It went like this:
  1. Called the shop
  2. Ordered the rig
  3. Saw, that UPS would deliver it
  4. Got a somehow bad feeling about knowing that
  5. Told em, that i work every day till late
  6. Told em, that no one would be at home until 6 pm
  7. That's fine, they told me
  8. Got home one day just to see this nice notice
  9. "...blabla tried to deliver...blabla..will try again"
  10. The next day i arrived at home, guess what, yeah the next notice
  11. Called UPS again
  12. Yeah, no problem
  13. When i arrived at home the very next day....
  14. Next notice "...blabla...last attemp..."
  15. Called UPS A G A I N
  16. Yeah, we'll try it the next day
  17. So i asked when, and they told me "9am"
  18. To be honest, i got a bit......angry...
  19. Told em AGAIN that at this time no *******g one will be at home...
  20. Called UPS again to ask if i could drive over and get my rig at their service (ahahahahhahahaha) point
  21. Yeah, no prob mate
  22. So i drove there to get my stuff
  23. Well, you know what, it wasn't there
  24. No you might ask where it was
  25. I asked em and lo and behold ....it was....at some frikking car who tried to deliver it at MY HOME
  26. Now, i really got mad
  27. So the guy called the driver to bring back the rig and told me, that i could try it the next day
  28. So .. the next day i drove again over there
  29. And guess what, they couldn't find the package.
  30. I was about to climb over the counter to strangle this ******* when some other guy entered the room and brought the package.

And the morale is: Never ever try to get your stuff delivered by this ******

I was going to post something to the effect of cursing newegg's "eggsaver" shipping and the whole newegg to DHL to USPS thing...then realized, well, Memphis, TN is 458 miles from me and Hebron, KY is 407 miles, so I guess my recent order has gotten a little closer to me

I guess next time I'll google a new shipping method before selecting it and realize when it's worth a few bucks to go ahead and get it via UPS.

Eh.... two packages from newegg 'arrived' on wednesday at 12:10 at my front door, or at least so says the tracking info. Newegg's invoice has the right address, UPS typically delivers to the apartment office when there's no one around, my roommate hasn't seen them, I haven't seen them, the office staff hasn't seen them, and the UPS guy who came around yesterday didn't have them in his truck.

Something fishy is going on.....

That said, they've been good so far and the only thing I had delivered by a 'delivery man' was delivered and setup by the guy I bought it from. A little late, but all the same it worked out fine.

in a situation like that you can do one of two things. from the get go as soon as they have a tracking # call UPS and tell them you want to pick it up at a local location and not to deliver it. OR you can leave a note on your door with your signature and they will take that and leave the package. I have done both before with no problems whatsoever.

Well, Gandalf, i tried both of it with no result. For example they told me, that whatever deal i made with their "central" won't have any affect to the deliverypoints -.- no kidding, they just ignored it. As for the notice, i tried that too with no avail.

Whatever, i learned my lesson.

But to tell you the truth, i had something quite similar with the german counterpart (DPD). In fact they made it even worse. In short it went like this (no epic post this time, i try to tell it as short as possible)
  1. Talked to a friend who said he'd get the parts for the rig, assemble them and send the rig to me
  2. He bought the stuff, assembled it, packed it as safe as one could and send it
  3. Package ain't arrived
  4. Called DPD, they told me it's right on the way
  5. Told em, that we work all day (deja vu anyone? ) and that they sould deliver it at a given time
  6. No problem
  7. Package didn't arrive
  8. Called again, just to get told it's likely to arrive the very day
  9. Got home after work on a rainy day, no package, BUT a handwritten notice
  10. The notice went like "Hi there, you weren't home when i arrived, i delivered you package to some adress 10 streets away"
  11. I was like "WTF??" I never heard of that adress not to mention i never heard of the peeps living there
  12. So i went over to the adress just to see the package standing IN THE *******G GARDEN
  13. rang the bell, and some granny oppened the door who told me, that a man came there and asked em if he could leave something there for someone else
  14. So i got my package and brought it home.
  15. Opened it, opened the rig and you won't believe it
  16. The whole cpu-socket was torn of the mainboard. Yeah, you read that right TORN APART.
  17. Called my buddy who couldn't believe it either. He send me pictures of the rig in perfect condition, pics of how he packed it
  18. So i called DPD. Now the fun began.
  19. They said that they delivered just fine, the delivery guy said that everything went fine and if the rig was damaged, then it had been damaged before hedelivered it.
  20. Followed by that i had some fun with lawyers and DPD which ended nuts, cause no one could say if and when and by whom it got damaged
  21. My friend assembled a new rig and brought it personally
  22. Also he did all he could to prevent damage he felt it was up to him to get this to a good end.
  23. DPD can suck my hairy butt....

Seems i'm very "lucky" when it comes to delivery services....
