Yeah, saw that. Big to nV.

You think they're trying to compete or something?

Thanks! They're certainly garnering some added performance and speedy driver releases which are very welcomed. And, having new features are awesome, hehe!

Ambient Occlusion works in WoW SirPauly ((with these drivers)). I suggest you try it and give it a go. It does some amazing things to particle effects. My priest was casting Holy Nova((ya I've had these drivers for a bit)) and the way the light radiates through particles is impressive.'

Unfortunately. The performance is expensive. Even 1680x1050 Quad 295 I was struggling with it in some spots.

Ouch!

Is there a list of games that work with AO?

EDIT: BTW, Chris, I was remembering the good time we had last year during April Fools! LOL!

Cool, thanks Pirate. Just installed the other WHQL's. I blew these off this AM when I first saw your post because I didn't have much luck with the leaked set. Now I see these are "official" Beta's available from Nvdiia so I'm giving them a go.

These drivers are much better than the leaked set. I told you guys a while back that the leaked set was very very bad and a very early form.

Yeah, but that leaked driver set in January was great because it offered some insight on Ambient occlusion and Sli-AA.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are crashing like crazy now... how awesome. Of course they crash with anything above 182.08 for whatever damned reason.

not if it's got something to do with g80 vs. g92 arch.

Can't hurt to try. Many drivers were card specific yet would run perfectly on the rest using a modded .inf file to install.

This new shading method, ssao or whatever these drivers have, can AA be enabled at the same time? I tried using it in Half-Life 2 with AA and got graphical corruption on the edges and ends of all objects. Not sure if the new feature is buggy, or if aa/and this new feature don't work together like how hdr/aa wouldn't work together back in the old days.

EDIT: Ok it seems even with AA off AND ambient off the corruption is still present, I guess the game is just broke with this driver set. Damn. I wanted to use the new feature with HL2 since it's apparently taxing on the framerate and HL2 has plenty of fps to spare. Kinda screwed, I can go to an older driver, but then I don't have the new ambient feature...lol...dammit!

I just got done playing WaW with 32xQ AA and Ambient Occlusion on @ 1920x1200

45fps is lowest i seen on my GTX295 @ 650/1400/1200.. once eVGA GVT is working with these i will be back to my usual 650/1475/1200

Absolutely amazing.
Crysis Warhead recieves a 22% increase with AA enabled.. I can play it with full enthuasist @ 1920x1200 w/ 2xAA smooth as butter, no drops below 37fps

Insane! nVidia ftw!!!

According to the driver, Grid and Cryostasis can also support AO.

Just as any other 185.xx series driver:

1.) AO causes massive peformance loss once enabled. Drop of 25% or greater in most titles.

2.) Enabling AO causes temps on each video card too just by 10c-12c.

3.) Enabling SLI-AA causes massive microstuttering in all titles.

Edit:

4.) SLI-AA casues every title I've got to freeze when starting the game or if I alt+tab to the desktop and back it causes the game to lockup again for a few seconds and come back. Very annoying.

I have now disabled SLI-AA on Tri-SLI setup, was only runing SLIAA16Q and I am getting a loss of 20FPS and massive microstuttering.
